i just installed mine after debating if i wanted to get a locally stored device. I just hate that the ring cameras are SO expensive.
FWIW- Nest Cameras and their cloud storage are even more expensive

Have nest doorbell and love it!

I have the Ring doorbell as well as a couple of the Ring spotlight cameras. I love them. My whole house is covered. If anyone comes on my lawn, I know.
I had a bunch of packages delivered to my house one day. They were all sitting on the porch. About three to four teenagers started coming up my driveway, saw that I had a Ring doorbell, and hightailed it out of there.

The new nest subscription covers all cameras for 1 price now. Used to be per camera but now 60 a year covers everything

That’s not bad at all. Previously it was way more if you had multiple cameras . Part of the reason I stayed away from the nest platform tbh

I was thinking about getting one of these but unsure how long it would last given my doorbell is hardwired literally on the very front of my house outside of the porched in area by the front door. Essentially, its only got about 1 foot over overhang as shelter meaning its going to get roasted by the sun from 1-7 PM during the summer and soaked during thunderstorms. I've read they can only withstand up to 110 degrees F. Not sure if it would hold up.

Mine gets hit by the sun for a few hours in the morning and no issues so far

Go with Eufy. I hate paying subscription costs. Everything is stored locally. I've had mine for well over a year, and it works great.

Anyone have any experience with Laview? Thinking about installing their doorbell camera in the fall pending further research.

We just got this one.

I like it so far, just do yourself a favor and snap a picture of the QR code and serial number on the back of the camera before you secure it to the outside of your house. I downloaded the app after I installed everything and I had to take the cover plate off and take the damn thing off the wall to scan the QR code.

I wouldn't be without one, but I'd probably try a different brand next time/house.
I have the doorbell and the floodlight and both are finicky. They're good to ok usually, but sometimes they don't work at all or are somewhat useless (recording misses the movement, comes in all black, etc.). FWIW I'm on an Orbi mesh/whatever with gigabit.

Really nice. Never have to worry about answering the door for some Jehovah’s witnesses. Always have a watchful eye on my Amazon packages
