$100 for unlimited talk, text, and data + $20 per line.
Family of 4 works out to $180 or $45/line.
Includes HD video (unlike T-Mo) and 10gb of hotspot too.

Been waiting on a reason to move to Verizon. This might be it.

Without any looking in to the situation, do they slow down speeds after a certain point?

Nevermind

The Verizon Unlimited plan touts unlimited texts, calls, and data — but if customers uses more than 22 GB of 4G LTE data on any line during a month, further usage will be deprioritized behind other Verizon users.

22gb is a shitload of data for a phone. I am sure hey just want people tethering and using data at home, cant blame them.

Is it 22gb per phone? Or just total and split between all additional lines added?

22GB per line before throttling is plenty fair IMO

Also, it's not "throttling" per se. They don't slow you down 100% off the time once you hit 22GB. Just in the case of network congestion, you go to the back of the line behind people who HAVENT used 22GB.

Every single other carrier deprioritizes on their unlimited plans read the fine print. AT&T 22 GB T mobile 28 GB, Etc it is not the same as throttling.
T mobile even limits videos to 480p unless you pay $20 extra per month.
It's 22 GB per line.

I guess that means AT&T will be offering something as far as the hotspot goes as well soon

About time a major carrier went back to this. I'm probably switching back unless AT&T offers something similar in the next 6 months.

Anyone on grandfathered unlimited switching to it? It's tempting, it's cheaper than grandfathered unlimited, is there any reason not to switch?

I am going to wait a bit before deciding. They don't allow discounts to the unlimited. I have an unlimited line and I have 2 lines on a share plan. My total before equipment is $178. If I switched it was showing $170, but I think there's a $10 discount for paperless statements and autopay. So I could be saving $18 total.

Man I'm gonna miss subsidized plans..with Sprint bought 2 $200 phones and append $165 a month on the bill for 2 lines unlimited data for 24 months was $4,360 for 2 years
With Verizon. I'd spend $140 a month for 2 lines and unlimited data plus $33 x 2 for 2 new phones(comparable to the phones I have now) for 24 months which comes out to $4,944.
So I'd be spending $600 more every 2 years..

What kind of additional taxes and fees would I be looking at if I did the base of $140 for two lines? I'm getting married in a few weeks and I was going to add my wife to my Cricket plan. We can get 2 unlimited plans for $120. I'd be willing to pay a bit more for Verizon if the additional taxes and fees aren't too much.

Well your gonna have to add in the cost of the phone unless you bring your own phone or just outright pay for your phone upfront..

I'll just bring my own phone. I usually stay a year behind and buy used from Swappa.

It depends on the specials that are sometimes offered. When I got the G3 for my wife, it was cheaper to do it under contract (subsidized) than the monthly payments. This was from Costco, and I think they were offering a gift card rebate or something.
