Has some incredibly advanced features that I can appreciate much more than I can use.
Has some very useful new feautures. The camera is incredible even compared to 7+ I looked at in the store. I mean it’s really really nice. And has several different settings.
I needed the extra screen size due to some recent vision loss, so I am loving the bigger screen despite what others may say.
Due to wanting a bigger screen I opted to not wait for X. Even though it’s sliiiightly bigger, it’s a bit deceptive due to the notch in the top of X.
And I wasn’t trying to wait as my 6 has been crapping the bed for weeks and finally is shot. Needs another screen and that’s probably the 4th I’ve broken in the nearly 3.5 Year’s I’ve had it.
Anyways. Any new iPhone 8, 8+, or upcoming X owners, chime in on what new features you are excited about. I’m interesting in finding some more useful ones.

Glad you're enjoying your phone! I have a Samsung S8+, but I like the new iPhones. Let us know what kind of battery life you wind up getting with your type of usage.

Battery life?

He posted at 12:32am - his phone’s been dead for for 5 hours.

I upgraded from the 6S+ to the 8+ yesterday. Honestly not seeing much of a difference besides the waterproofing and the home button. Which I do like.

I’ll know more after baseball practice today when I take swing and pitch videos.

Battery life has not been bad at all on mine.
Left the house yesterday at 1:30 for tailgating at 90%. Took plenty of pictures before the game during festivities.
Checked plenty of scores, watched the espn app for a bit to catch how other games were going.
Around ~20 hours later, I am currently on 44%.

It's literally the same phone with face unlock and wireless charging.

He's comparing the iPhone 6 to the iPhone 8+. It's got 3 generations worth of improvements on top of a bigger screen, better camera and better battery life that comes with the bump to the plus. It should be a very noticeable upgrade for him.

iPhone 8 doesn’t have face unlock. That’s the X, which also has the OLED screen, coming in November.

Yea literally the same except the 8+ processor blows the 6 out of the water.

How's the camera in low-light situations? The 6 was the GOAT because as far as I could tell it was better in low-light than the 6S and the 7.

This. Camera. Is. Fricking. Incredible.
If that’s your concern, go for it.

To previous poster, if you’ve been on a 6, go for the 8. Many upgrades, some minute some massive.
I’m very happy with my purchase fwiw.

Posted this last week in another thread but still holds true.

I got my 8+ Friday and got to test it out over the weekend. So far no complaints. Was coming from a 6+ so I was already used to the size. It’s slightly heavier than my old phone but I kind of like it...makes it feel more premium. Think the all glass design is to thank. Super quick too...makes my old 6+ feel ancient.

Been trying to protect the thing like crazy since my case and wireless charger won’t be coming in until Thursday.

ETA: also battery on this thing is a beast. Unplugged it at 10:00 am yesterday and as of 3:30 pm today it’s still at 20% battery.

Go for the 8+ Glock. Won’t regret it if you’re coming from an older iPhone. Especially since the X will be back ordered to shite for months.

Picked up the 8+ today.. so far I’m liking it. It’ll take me a little while to get used to the bigger size

Give it 2-3 days and you won’t notice the size.
I actually appreciate it. Can watch games on espn app without squinting.
