Are Vue users happy with the service?
After my combined Cable and Internet bill went over $200 this month (not top tier either), I am done with Cox Cable TV.
The retention department has become rude and flippant and adopted a "take it or leave it" attitude.
If Cox wants to convince me it costs more to provide Cable and Internet than it does to generate and deliver electricity to my home I am all ears!

I love vue. I could be nitpicky about some things but it's been great.

I also left sling for vue and am very pleased. I also thank VermilionTiger for all his efforts and his initial post on cord cutting.

it says on site that roku is now streaming Playstation Vue
on main page of this thread it was not listed as a streaming device for it.
article is from 6/21/2016 still the same or changed?

It is now available on Roku and works fine, but doesn't have anything resembling a traditional guide, like Fire TV.

I have a roku stick and as of yesterday I cut cable from my cox bill (internet only) I have signed up for amazon and have netflix.
I don't know if it is a coincidence but now I canot get sound from the hdmi. The cable box is still plugged in but I will be bringing it back to Cox soon.
Does the sound issue have anything to do with cable being disconnected? Do I need to do something different after I remove the cable box?

The guide killed it for me. Unfortunately the Netflix app on fire tv sucks.

Am I able to access profiles on Netflix with the newest roku streaming stick? Bought a roku 1 and it doesn't give me the option to switch through different profiles for my family.
ETA: nvm it does

Ok so I know nothing about cord cutting. Just moved into a new apt, and I want to try to stream everything.
Its just going to be me in the apt. I want to be able to get at least the basic sports channels(ESPN family, maybe local Fox Sports). Four major networks would be nice to watch some shows, and besides that, I can work around not having other channels, but it would be a plus having FX or AMC.
DOnt really care about DVR, but I would take it.
Im open to anything as long as it saves me money.

Where are you living?
For the traditional cable networks you will want something like Vue or Sling. I am partial to Vue.
Depending on where you are, Vue may also have locals for your market. If not, you said you are moving into an apartment so I'm going to assume you are fairly close/inside a city. You can use a cheap OTA antenna in that case and get your channels for free that way.
I live in the NO Metro area and use Vue+OTA antenna.
I also use usenet+plex to snag TV shows I may have missed but that's a less legal route.

I live in Nashville, so I should have a problem getting locals here.
Im reading that Vue is better than Sling, but I would have to buy the Roku. Would it be better to do 3 months of sling to get the Roku for free?
Can you get Kodi from Roku/Vue?
I do like the Vue package that has all the ESPN networks, SEC Network, and the Fox networks, and then use a antenna for locals, and then have Hulu as a backup for shows I miss, instead of getting a DVR. Kodi would help me stream shows that I couldnt get. That make sense?

Vue is just a service/app. So you can get Vue on the supported devices right now, which are Roku, Amazon Fire TV/Stick, PS3, PS4, iOS, Android, and I think that's it.
Also, I don't think you can get Kodi on Roku, it has to be an android based device, which the Fire TV is. So if you want Kodi, my suggestion would be to get a Fire TV for $100, not the stick as it's underpowered, and load Kodi onto it.
Vue and Sling both work on the FireTV. So that's up to you.
For me, I use Vue on FireTVs with locals OTA, and Kodi on the FireTvs. In my guest room I have a FireStick and it's slow as hell.

My gf just cut the cord a couple weeks ago but she's having problems with the 2 tvs that are the furthest from the outside antenna. Her installer tried a booster inside but it didnt help much. I was wondering if anybody had any experience with an outdoor preamplifier to help send the signal down the line.
