What are cons of streaming tv options such as YouTube tv?

None, IMO. I just dumpted AT&T Directv Stream for YoutubeTV, and dumped AT&T for a local fiber internet company, I couldn't be happier.

The only cons I have found are the cloud DVR is not as quick or responsive as a local HD based DVR and not every streaming service does not have every channel available so you either have to lose a channel or two or pay for a separate standalone.

Runs a few seconds behind live broadcast so if you have friends that like to text you during your favorite game that can be an issue.
That is about it.
That is about it.

Yup. I mute the one guy who still have cable and other than that no cons. Been streaming for 10 years.

I can personally vouch for YouTube TV. Set it to automatically store all LSU sports. DVR works fine. No space limitations on the storage that I can tell. Has all the ESPN/NFL games that are appropriate for this area. Use Netflix/HBO/Hulu to stream the good stuff.
Figure I'm saving about $100 bucks a month over cable as I was already paying for netflix, etc. in addition.
Only downside is if the internet goes down, but you probably would lose cable as well if that happens

I also have Prime (pays for itself with the shite I order on there) and TUBI, alot of people don't know about TUBI, a ton of movies, TV Shows, and some live tv and sports. It has short ads but if you use a blocker the ads are eliminated.
Oh and IPT for everything else.

The biggest con I have is getting my wife to understand the concept.
We have friends who have been using it for years and do well with it but "Survivor" may be hard for Mama to find.
We were discussing it last night and we are likely to cut the cable soon.
I personally like apps like PlutoTV, Tubi and others and find virtually anything I want to watch.

We've had YouTubeTV since it was available in this market. My only complaint is it's gotten a good bit more expensive. It was like $30/mo when it launched but I guess that wasn't sustainable. I enjoy having no contract though. The service has everything we watch.

None. Limited number of devices if you’re sharing with family or friends. I think it’s 4 or so, though.

If you can receive local, over the air signals, you will get a much better picture than you will get with streaming. But that only covers the major networks.

The biggest benefit for me is the ease to have "service" wherever. All that needs to be done is drop a streaming box in and download the app. A regular cable or satellite option requires running physical wires to each location and installing the supporting splitters, etc. up in the attic and making the drop to each location. Even at that, you are limited to locations due to number of splits you can do, overall pain in the arse, etc.
With a streaming setup, I have a TV in the main living room, on the back porch, in the office, in the garage, shop, in our bedroom, and one in my boy's room. With Dish, there was no way I'd pay to have a receiver at all of those location. It was too cost prohibitve, and as mentioned earlier, a pain in the arse.
All I did with YouTube TV was put in a TV and hook up an Apple TV at each location. It's infinitely easier to set that all up with a streaming setup vs. with my old setup with Dish. As a matter of fact, I didn't have all of those locations even set up with Dish. I do with YouTube TV though.
Keep in mind, you can only be streaming at three locations at once with YouTube TV. I've never encountered that being an issue though.

I have HULU. In game threads if I'm watching on the HULU app, I know what has happened in game threads about a minute before I see it.
If I switch to the ESPN app on the same TV, it's more real time.
I don't get why that happens on the same TV during the same game.

Different companies have different equipment for processing the video into a stream.
Also depends on whether they have any kind of delay with the feed they are converting.

Anywhere you can just buy a sports package/ESPN? Seems like every service uses it as an add on once you pay for their service.
