Best Buy, Amazon, etc.

Price dropped from $350 to $248 which is probably the lowest you'll see these, ever. The new version was just released which probably explains this price cut.

Every little tech Youtuber swears by these over the Bose QC 35s

I have the WH-1000XM2, the previous model. Sound quality is amazing, although after wearing them for a while, the level of comfort isn't amazing. Supposedly the XM3 is slightly better in that regard.

I have a pair of the XM3 and have really enjoyed them. They are not the most comfortable headphones I've worn for extended periods of time, but that is a minor complaint.

I can't compare them directly to the Bose QC 35s as I do not have a pair of those. I didn't need the option to pair the headphones with multiple devices and that was the leading edge for the Bose headphones.

I have them and for that price that's basically a steal.

I also have the XM2s. Excellent sound quality. I was going to get Mrs. Midnight the Bose for a side-by-side comparison, but never went through with it.

Yeah, definitely picked up a pair. I've waited for damn near 2 years to see these go on sale and I don't think there are any major differences between the 3 and 4 series.

I'm sure the 4s will be able to connect to multiple devices but honestly it's not hard to switch from 1 devices to the next with the 3s. Definitely not worth the $100 price difference.

This...to me they sound better than the QC35s but I've also heard people say the opposite.

Yeah. So if you are someone who just wants the latest model I still think the 4s at $350 are worth it. But the 3's at $250 is a much better buy imo.

How would these compare to the Plantronics Voyager 8200? I know the 8200s can connect to multiple devices and have multiple levels of ANC but is it at the same quality.

i cant compare them to other headphones because i havent had any experience with others.

However, if you tech reviewers are to be believe the xm3's are industry standard or up there will the other heavy hitters as far as ANC goes.

Basically, you won't be disappointed.

The big knock on the Sonys continues to be the call quality. I think a lot of folks were banking on big improvements here to compete with the Bose 35 and 700s, but apparently they didn't do anything at all.

I have the 35s and a guy in my office has the XM3s (I also have the wireless bud versions of the Sony), and but for the call quality I'd probably call the Sonys the winner. Not by a lot, the Bose are comparable, but the Sonys are great. But especially with so many working from home, it's crazy they didn't improve on calls.

I guess I'll go to the 700s or whatever Apple comes out with.

Don’t skip over the Jabra Elite 85h.

Impressive battery life, has all the bells and whistles that Bose and Sony have, comfortable, and best call quality of all the headphones.

Priced less too.

This isn't completely true - most reviewers rave about the build quality and comfort of the Bose. Sony tends to win on sound quality, particularly reproduction of music. The (active) noise cancelling performance of both is probably too close to call.

I have the M2 version of the Sonys and they're fantastic for the purpose. However, I've worn/used the Bose and they're really outstanding headphones for folks who like what Bose does with music reproduction (I'm not a fan).

YMMV

But it is a "pick your poison" kind of deal.
