I like the features of simplisafe, but I'm looking for an outdoor camera option...all under one system.

Any recommendations?

So let me make sure I understand what you are asking....are you looking for an outdoor camera system that could trigger your home alarm system on any motion (based on sensitivity setting)?

Nest has a security system and 2 types of outdoor camera and 2 types on indoor camera, as well as a doorbell camera. You can pay to have the nest system professionally monitored and get a cellular backup as well.

I’m about to order it this week.

No. I'm looking for a security system that's self-installed, wifi-based; that has outdoor camera options. Simplisafe only has indoor cameras.

I don't want two different systems running.

Those are the kickers.....Nest is the only one I've heard of that meets both of those criteria. Of course there could be something out there that I'm not sure about. People have been asking Simplisafe for an outdoor camera every since they released the indoor one.....they have been very, very noncommittal

You might call VIVINT? I have quite a few neighbors that use them.

Out of curiosity, where does everyone live where they feel this is necessary? I live in a gated community where we really haven't had much in the way of issues shy of a few cars that were parked in the driveway instead of the garage that got broken into several years ago that most are pretty confident were kids in the neighborhood that have since moved out...

It's never been much of a thought for me, so wondering if it's a location thing, or what the driving factor tends to be for purchasing systems like this.

Don't do that

I have the Swann system. Easy install, if you can access the areas you want the cameras. AS long as you have a strong wifi signal, you can view your cameras remotely.
