I’ve currently got an iPhone 7, and this is completely an impulse want. My 7 works fine and the battery life is still good. I was playing around with a X in the store and I really like it, especially the camera.

So is it worth the upgrade, or should I just wait a few more months and check out the new phones released this fall?

And I’m not interested in android so don’t waste my time with those comments. I’m not switching, it is what it is.

I have the x. If i didn’t just get this phone a couple months ago, I would probably wait it out.

I’m going through this right now with the iPad Pro. Almost picked one up today, but supposedly the completely redesigned ones will be coming out this fall, so I’m waiting as well

I hear you. I’m just in a tech lull and the X is different enough to be new and interesting more so than any iPhone since probably the 5 for me. I figure they will drop the price of whatever the new iteration is since that seems to be the biggest gripe but I don’t want to miss out on that gorgeous oled screen.

But it’ll be my luck I’d buy one and then find out the new ones this fall are drop proof and have 48 hr battery life.

Wait. I love my X and am really glad I got it a month after it’s release, but it really is just a phone in the end. If yours still runs that well, wait for the next gen. The 5.8 may be cheaper than this gen and the X plus may have three lenses on the back. Worth waiting all around.

Get the X.
It’s awesome and the features go way beyond the camera.
The next gen or 2 will be plays off the X so just go ahead and get it.

If you are going to stick with iPhone I would get an X now. Apple is going to use an LG panel on the next gen iPhones most likely, so the display quality this coming year will be no where near as good.

Proof of this, LG made the Pixel 2 XL panels and V30 panels. Both had major issues. Apple is dumb for this. Saumsung makes the current iPhone X panel.

I have the X and I love it. It's a great status symbol to have the newest tech.

I'm in a similar situation, albeit with Android. I have the S7 edge, which is still totally fine by all accounts. I kinda want the S9, but I'm not sure the marginal upgrades are worth it.

Idk, I may wait for the new Pixel this fall, or give the OnePlus 6 a hard look.

SD 845, 8GB RAM, Nice AMOLED Display, Headphone Jack, near stock android, stupid fast charging, Above average camera. All for $579? Performance wise it is unmatched in general, then add the fact that it's almost half the cost of a Pixel 2 XL but has double the RAM, and a newer more powerful processor... Go buy it haha.

Just got the wife one yesterday, but she was having trouble hearing on her 7 and battery life was rough. They offered me a promotional price on one, but I'm happy w/ my 8+ and will wait for the larger one to launch in the fall. If I were in your shoes I'd wait, as it's not THAT big of a deal.

Yes you should. It’s an awesome piece of equipment. Cheapest tool you ll ever own. Think most people actually use it 3-4 hours a day.

I was wondering the same thing. Can't decide between the 8 or X or to wait until September.

Once the new ones come out in September, will the current 8 and X go on sale?

I currently have a 6 and need an upgrade, mainly for the camera (back only-I don't use front camera). The X makes me nervous with the glass front and back. I need something that won't break when I drop it (which will be a lot).

No. Current X owners are about to get fricked over. The new model will be a few hundred dollars cheaper than the current unit AND will have better features.

So, it would be stupid to get the X today?

Absolutely. You're about 4 months away from a new unit or a heavily discounted original X
