The pixel version of android is way better than samsung but samsung gives you better battery life.
Now that both are going to do 7 years of updates, I'd probably go with samsung just for battery life.
I like my Pixel 4a and 7a but the battery life is just so underwhelming. I do not use my phone at all and idle drain is just more than I like.

My 4a is still mint, too and I love the rear fingerprint sensor. I wish they would bring that back. It has only been charged to 100% maybe 5 times total and never went below 30%. battery life is exactly same as when brand new. Not terrible but not great.
The issue is that I only use my phones for talk and texting. Nothing else. When my phone is sitting on a table all night, I personally feel that any battery drain more than about 2-3% is unacceptable. The Pixel OS has consistently had about 5-7% battery drain overnight and even faster during the days for whatever reason.
This doesn't even get into screen-on-time for the power users. The SOT for pixel devices isn't really competitive to other high end devices.

Spectrum has a smoking deal on trading in towards the S24. I believe it's advertised as the trade in value of your phone plus $700.
Basically, I was just now able to trade in my S22 Ultra for the S24 Ultra (preorder) for $165.
This promotion ends tomorrow, 1/30.

They also had the best (now expires) deals on the pixel 8/pro.

Ultras are the Cadillacs of Android phones, pixel has the most Googley feaures. I like Samsungs native apps better than any of them, I have been on iPhone for 2 years now after being Android since it came out and I am sooooo ready to go back. Soon as they implement RCS in Apple im going back probably to an Ultra. Samsung camera in the 24 has out performed the IPhone in a few you tubers camera tests. But if you want the most Google like experience get an Pro, if you want the best experience overalll get a Ultra

I broke down and got the 8 pro.
Google had 256gb for $849 and $360 trade in for my 7 pro. Beat the average swappa price of $300 for it.
Been good so far. A little snappier. Great display. Antenna no better as signal strength is 95 to 105

Just got a Oneplus 12 - 512GB/16GB variety, and really liking it so far. I had a Oneplus 8 previously. Seems like it compares to S24+, but at a better price.

I got the S24+ a couple weeks ago. Upgraded from the 6 Pro.
My thoughts:
-Battery life is very good.
-Phone is fast.
-I remember that I hate samsung apps. I dont know why they need to have redundant apps that android provides, I get they want your info, but its stupid.
Also, group messages are messed up now. Im getting individual replies instead of group replies. Seems like an easy fix, but the settings are set to how its supposed to be and its still not right.
Once I fix the text message thing Ill enjoy it more, but right now I wish I would have gotten the pixel 8 pro.

I want to replace my iPhone 11 with a pixel 8 pro, but my family are all addicted to iOS.
Sometimes it’s just easier to go with the flow.

Are you using the samsung messages or the google messages app? I use the google message app on my S23 ultra. I like how it integrates with my PC.

Google messages.
Everything I read says go to settings-->advanced-->group messaging and make sure "send a mms reply to all recipients is selected.
Ive done that, but Im still getting individual replies. Ive cleared all data/cache.
