My son is at LSU and his laptop stopped working. Any suggestions where to bring it to get fixed quickly?

Any specific errors or anything? Could likely be an easy fix your son or you could do

He says it just won’t turn on, plugged in or not. Won’t be surprised if it’s something stupid, but I’m not there to look at it (not that I know anything about computers).

Just something to try before you bring it in. Unplug it, remove the battery, hold down the power button for 15 seconds

Then reconnect the battery and plug it in and try to power it on.

Is it 2003? I haven't seen a laptop you could remove the battery from without disassembling it in a looooong time.

Depends on what you mean by disassembly, but still quite a few modern laptops that give you access to the battery just by turning a few screws on the bottom.

Almost all (at least windows) laptops you can easily take the screws off the back and access the battery.

I do IT, but not about to work on notebooks. I take mine to a guy that works out of his house, he's fast, reasonable and very good. Try him at 225-279-1620, first name is Greg, last name escapes me.

I've used Formosa Computers on Airline. Mike is friendly and helpful. Quick, too. Very reasonable prices.
