looking for an A+ study guide

Does anyone know any websites or youtube videos to help study for the A+ test? I'm looking more for a refresher course and not learning everything from the ground up. Sample tests or quick rundowns of some of the concepts would be good too.

if you are going to start doing IT certifications I'd recommend you get a subscription to Safari Books Online. You can get one at a greatly reduced rate as a membership benefit from signing up for ACM.org. Pro subscription runs $99/yr and you get full access to safari books and skillsoft.
As for the A+, I hear that Mike Meyers is the goto (just checked, all his stuff is on Safari) but I'd also look for an Exam Cram series book for the practice tests.

Any reason you're trying to get an A+? It's pretty useless unless you're trying to get a bottom barrel phone support job

That's what I'm trying to get. Just want to break into the IT field. Already have an associate's from BRCC. Apparently that's not enough.

Or government work. Uncle Sam loves him some CompTIA.

An A+ wouldn't help that much then. Get something like a Network/security+ or CCNA

Udemy. Mike Meyers. Cheap, entertaining, effective. Like $14 for each course.
Then move on to CCNA. No need for a network+ unless you are a complete noob to IT and tech.

He has his associates already. An A+ won't help him get a job
If OP can get his CCNA, he can easily get a job making 50k

I've literally never worked in this field. I can't jump straight to CCNA.

Why not? It's an affordable exam with a high need in the job field.
Getting an A+ is no better than your associates. You should have learned a decent amount of networking at BRCC, or at least I did.

Any job that needs a CCNA will require 3+ years experience, probably even 5+. Experience seems to matter more than certs.

Certs>experience
If you have the cert most companies will hire you

Certs get you the interview, experience gets you the job. I agree with you that if OP has an AS or AAS in something IT relate then skipping the A+ (and N+) is a good idea.
Go after the CCNA (or Sec+ if DoD jobs are plentiful in your area) and grab that entry level desktop support gig. Then spend the next year on a new certification in whatever you find interesting and jump to a real gig.

other than most DoD type jobs requiring an active clearance now, everything else in here is pretty spot on..Studying for an A+ should take you an hour of watching Prof Messer videos to refresh yourself with how basic computing works..Remember with most of these test, How would MSoft do it vs the real world is the best answer..I've seen plenty of these test have 4 right answers, one just slightly more right than the others

I do not know about all that:
1) I have not hired a lot of cert guys in my time over experience.
2) I have built what I consider a pretty good career starting with OPs current plan.

until the interview and it becomes clear you have no real world experience putting those certs to use, and you just loaded up on certs
