While this is funny, my 5G by At&t reaches my important places where 4G did not, like my office bathroom in the middle of my work building. 5G>>>>>>>4G because of this alone.

Same here in rural MO, my 5G is significantly stronger in my house. Obviously way faster too.

It's probably AT&T's 5Ge BS that isn't really 5G

I mean they are not wrong.

n71 and n41 sites are in mass deployment right now for TMO.

Not sure on ATT and Verizon.

Mint mobile is great. Just signed up for another year for just over $200. I primarily use calling over WiFi and while I liked Sprint for years not having a cell phone bill to pay each month is great.

That is actually an accurate portrayal.

T-Mo rolled out low-band 5g. Verizon & ATT are working on millimeter wave. In their current states, low-band provides the most benefit. In the future, as technology improves and as the large carriers get more and more 5g millimeter wave nodes installed, it will be leagues better.

AT&T is also a shithead company that rolled out some enhanced LTE and calls it "5Ge" and so people's phones say "5g" but it's not really any better than 4g.

They did 4Ge as well when 4G was new.

ATT shite head company but all X55 chipsets have an Ox code that will always show 5G logo on the handset

That doesn't excuse AT&T for marketing 5Ge the way that they do. Call it 4G Enhanced or XTREME-ULTRA-MEGA-4G or whatever, but it's not 5g and calling it "5Ge" is a marketing ploy, but it confuses people.

That said, those chipsets should allow the OS to display 4G if the phone is not actually on 5G.

What band? It is probably NSA n5.

No. Most cellphone usage is done indoors. Even if you put a node on every street corner, mmWave won't penetrate indoors.

What mmWave bands WILL DO is become the backbone of Verizon and AT&T's future Home Internet Service. mmWave is being eyed as a cheaper replacement for fiber. mmWave will allow carriers to offer great speeds and low latency without having to dig trenches/boring to lay fiber in entire neighborhoods. All that will be needed is a small outdoor antenna pointing towards the node.

Well I've always thought that was their ultimate goal with 5g, but never have had any proof to back it up. Have they come out and said that?

I am not sure that it's all that much cheaper than fiber, either. They still have to have massive fiber backhaul from each node. They need 4 strands per node.
