Had this case since I've had my iPhone, about a year. In the last few weeks, people keep telling me they can't hear me. I took off the case and they all said it's much better. Anyone else have this problem where all of the sudden, no one can hear you? Was there a way to fix? I'm way to rough on my phone to not have a case. Really liked that this one is waterproof as I hunt and fish a lot

Yeah, get a new case. I had the same problem when I had a lifeproof.

yep new case time. The plastic membrane they use to allow sound to travel without letting water in gets worn out over time and muddles the accoustics of you speaking.

Same thing happened to me a couple of months ago. Decided to go no case and broke my screen last week, so now I'm buying a new screen and case

I just picked up a trentium. Although not waterproof it is water resistant from splashes and crap. The thing I didn't like about life proof was the screen. Waiting to see what the Nuud looks like for the 6.

Not just iPhones either, I've seen lots of flak from Android users with newer phones saying the case covered the speaker enough to reduce volume.

What exactly do you do with your phone that requires you to put a case that is almost 15% of the phone cost? I never understood the market for cases like the LifeProof and the bulky Otterbox ones. I use a $4 case from Amazon Basics that has lasted me almost 2 years.

I would say going back to the late 90's, I have been through about a phone every year or two. Of those that crapped out, most have been from water damage... Like I said, I fish and hunt a lot. Just the humidity gets in them. Doesn't take much. I have had a few cracked screens as well. So, it's well worth it to get a waterproof case.

Same boat. I fish and camp a lot, but usually when doing those things my phone is in my car or in a bag or something. I also have a waterproof pouch to put my phone in while wading.

My mother in law has one of those cases. This past weekend she opened the car door and it fell out and cracked the screen.

I was due for an upgrade and am upgrading tonight to a 6 and giving her my 5 that's been protected by an otterbox over a year.

My first stop tomorrow is to get an Otterbox for my new 6.

I own a construction company and spend about 12 hours a day outside rain or shine. Having a case that is both waterproof and shockproof is a must for me, my decision to buy the iPhone 5s over the HTC One was solely due to a life proof case being available for the 5s and not the One. I had an iPhone 4 for 2 years and it spent both years in a lifeproof and when I went to a new phone and removed the case, not a scratch to be seen, like brand new.

Do I believe that the lifeproof case is for everyone? Absolutely not but neither are a lot of things that people buy. But there is a market for it and a group of people that need them.

I bought my iPhone for $750. Spending $70, which is how much I got for mine, hardly seems like a wasted expense. The Lifeproof cases are WATERproof, dirt/dust proof, and shock proof, for if you drop your phone. I'm glad that you're happy with your $4 case, but I have accidentally dropped my phone in the sink with water in it, in the cats water dish, dropped my phone hundreds of times in general, yet when I take it out of the case, it looks just like the day I bought it. No scratches, chips, dents, not so much as a SMUDGE on it. AND Lifeproof guarantees and REPLACES their cases FOR FREE FOR LIFE! I can't afford to buy a new phone every time I drop it, so to me, it's way worth it to pay more money for something that guarantees I won't have to cough out another $750 every time I turn around! Maybe now you can understand why we expensive phone users swear by Lifeproof.

Guy makes his only post on here as a hard sell for lifeproof cases.

I use a Sony z3 and it is already waterproof etc...

Still at the rate people replace phones seems crazy to buy a case that is more than 10% of the cost of the phone. That is more than the rip off insurance.

LifeProof Warranty is only 1 year, (not for life). You were misled. I know, my LifeProof case finally broke and no warranty coverage.

I had one for my 5s but hated the "Rainbow effect" when the screen protector touch the phone screen. Went with a Otterbox Commuter when I got the 6 plus

File a warranty claim on their website. $5.
Edit: never mind. Saw the date. You got 14 months of field usage. That's not terrible.

I file a claim right before the year mark.
