I remember when Internet TV streaming options were fantastic prices (PS Vue for ~40 bucks). Now DirecTV Stream is up to $110 for me.
Will be moving to an LUS Internet + TV bundle within the next month. Will ultimately be the same price as I'm paying now, but I get 200 Mbps faster connection.

cutting-the-cord services have jumped the shark big time
the only legit discussion left at this point is around purchasing OTA antennas and hd-homerun tuners.

We got YouTubeTV when it was first offered here. It was like $30/mo and a pretty great deal. Now it's closer to $80 which is probably about what we'd pay for traditional cable.
The only things that stop me from switching back are the extra equipment, contracts or introductory pricing.

Just checked Cox prices, their “starter” package is $61 and not not include any sports channels. Next one up that includes ESPN , NFL network and others is $109

As expensive as it has gotten, YTTV is still cheaper than a comparable cable package, and it can be cancelled/restarted at your leisure. I killed mine after the CWS finals and likely won't kick it back up again until the women's NCAA tournament starts, to then be cancelled again until just before football season. All without having to leave my house, or to let someone inside.
Try that with cable.

I think you can get a DirectTV package for about $80 with 200 channels. It might be streaming too though.
Streaming packages are at least pretty close to cable now. It's just too convenient to throw a Roku stick on a TV and be up in a few minutes though.

I canceled Cox internet last year on an account I opened in the 90s. It was my last service with them. You'd have thought I was trying to get out of a timeshare.

Between streaming putting pressure on their TV service and fiber putting pressure on their internet service, it wouldn't surprise me to see them turn truly predatory regarding cancellations.
I haven't had cable in over a decade, but a few years ago when I switched to ATT Fiber, I genuinely felt bad for poor woman on the phone following her script to try to get me to stay. She couldn't come close to the speed I was getting for the price, but she still had to go through the motions, all in a tone of voice that sounded like her soul had been sucked out of her.

I can't imagine anyone coming out to my house and poking holes in every room to run coax.
That's like caveman stuff.

Agreed. We have 5 TVs in the house. I don't want to deal with all of that.

When I really cut the cord I used Tablo and a digital antenna. I missed ESPN and Foxsports too much tho and stared streaming services. The original DTV streaming was cheap but had all kinds of outages.
YTTV at $73 is rock solid. Problem is we don’t watch most of the channels.
The saving content is very useful too. (Recording)

The flexibility of only having it when you want it is definitely underrated
I only have YTTV during college football season

My wife watches a lot more TV than I do. She's never let me get rid of it, and I'd miss it for sports anyway. In the grand scheme of things, it's really still a pretty minor expense.

To be fair, "cable" companies don't have to run a coax to every television. I recently cancelled my Eatel (now REV) cable, but only one of the boxes had a coax to it. Not sure if the others communicated with it or the modem/router box.

Switching from YTTV to Fubo for baseball season. Haven't seen a better, dependable option for Bally. $80/mo for the lowest package though.

...and the Tech Board wept, for there were no more cords to cut.

I will be cutting the cord in the next month so when Dish account expires. Fell in love with YouTubeTV when Espn in one of there disputes and I couldn’t watch football. I signed for for their 3 week free trial and it was great so I will probably go with that but for those that have done it. What are some
Other options that will also give me sports.
