Yep. Nobody realizes how quickly a large family can hit that limit.

Don't be myopic just because you're young and single and don't use 1tb. This will affect you too one day.

Just checked and they finally bumped my limit from 300GB to 1TB. We were tripling and quadrupling the limit it every month. With it raining most of the weekend and downloading a new game for my son's birthday we ended up just short of 50GB for Saturday.

AT&T currently has 1gb download speed and unlimited data for 80 a month but we all know after taxes and all it will be close to 95 a month.

I pay $90 a month for 1Gbps Gigapower, and it's only $96 after taxes. Sure, it's about $30 more a month compared to what Comcast has, but I have 4 x's the bandwidth and no data cap.

At the same time, I'm in Texas, so the taxes may be different where you're at in Florida.

Yeah this is pretty much the plan i'm looking at if we go over the cap next month. i like the unlimited data plan. Not having to worry about a kid leaving something streaming all day. How is the AT&T router?

Downloading the game, sure. Some games can easily be 50GB or more.
Playing the actual game? Nope. TINY amount of data.

Not trying to slip anything by anyone. Sorry, I was incorrectly under that assumption because our usage skyrocketed when we got our PS4.

As someone who just cancelled cable today, this is not a thread I wanted to read.

Last month we as a family of 4 used 357 out of an available 1024 GB of data. Less than that this month.

What is your setup that your chugging through a TB of data in less than a month?

I have tivo connected to an HD antennae and stream Netflix and Amazon prime.

Setup will probably consist of fire tv box, prime, Netflix, ESPN, maybe slingtv, and an antenna to get local channels. House of two.

Family of three here who easily goes through close to a TB a month.

It really isn't that hard.

Good luck once Net Neutrality is completely eradicated, that amount will drop to 500GB and you will be charged an extra $70 twice

not sure why you are getting down voted for telling the truth.

thats why I asked how. I shy of a TB by about 60%.

What's your setup?

4K smart tv
PS4
XBOX One
Fire Stick

I haven't even replaced my broken smart tv yet and hooked up my PC.

When my wife and three old were gone for three weeks I still went through 700GB. Just streaming Netflix and watching the NBA/ NHL playoff, EPL soccer and sports center.

Typical 4K uses 7GB-10GB an hour
HD content sports or movies uses 3GB to 5GB an hour.

People saying 1 TB is a lot to use are just not heavy use consumers.

My cap is 800GB, its bullshite. My ISP if you bust your cap three times automatically bump up your speed and increase your cap. Its bullshite and absurdly expensive but they are the only player in town.

I'd take 50 down and no cap all day.

im guessing this is why. Just bought a new tv and was too cheap for a 4K tv which sounds like a good decision now. We are likely watching a similar amount of content but you're using up 2x the data on a 4K tv vs my 1080whateverthefrick.
