I was told I was a VIP customer and I said I want to cancel 15 times. But screw DirecTV and their $180.00 monthly bill for one receiver!

Hello YouTube TV……$65.00 a month and I can stream on 3 devices.

I had YTTV until about 5 months ago. I always liked it.

My HOA included free internet and Bluestream cable, but the cable was SD, unless you upgraded the tv box @ 10 bucks per box times 5 TVs. Plus, all your TVs had to be tethered to a cable outlet. I didn't want to pay big bucks to have a cable outlet run to my back patio, either - CBS construction makes it a real pain in the arse.

Five months ago, my cable company upgraded their system so that you could stream using their App. Everything was now HD and no more tethering. I dropped YTTV and I really do like the Bluestream App. Similar to YTTV, except you enter the channel numbers from the remote to go directly to the channel you want, rather than scrolling through the channel list. Also, I can watch anything TV show for up to 4 days after it runs without having to record it. Just like YTTV, I can watch shows on my phone.

I found out that a lot of my neighbors were paying 10 bucks a month for a cable box (that was basically a wifi streaming box after the upgrade). I told them they should get a Fire TV stick for 25 bucks (Roku doesn't have the Bluestream App, yet), and just download the app. They had no clue. I ended up holding a lunch and learn session to teach people about how to download and use the Bluestream app and demo the differences between different devices. They were freaking amazed that I could set my TV on a table, plug it in, and start watching "cable" tv. I still get people texting me questions about their setups. I saved so many people $30/$40/$50 a month that day...

Should have had your “donation” info available for all your happy neighbors to contribute! Nice service work!

ATT cell service is next in line for the axe!

I switched from T-Mobile to Verizon 2 months ago, and realized that Verizon didn't have good coverage in my area, either, but it was just much more expensive. So, instead of switching back to T-Mobile, I went with Google Fi, which should have the same coverage (and as far as I can tell, so far, it does).

I'm waiting for the cell phone carriers to put towers in my area, near Tradition, FL. There is NOTHING west of us, so we are kind of on the edge of civilization in our area. There are big plans to develop homes west of us, so I'm sure they are going to put in towers, soon.

I threaten to cancel DIRECTV every year and they lower my price back to around $70 a month for over 200 channels and give me Sunday ticket for free.

They more or less force you to do this.

It’s a pita but I call their loyalty department anytime a promo drops off and they go in and add it back

Also, do I need to install a digital antenna?

I have had youtubetv for about a year and I still hate their interface. I was originally a user of DirecTv now/stream or whatever it was called. Their ui was significantly better than YTTV.

I didn't like the guide on a tv..its very 1-100ish, no way for favorites, sorting, etc....I just use a combination of streaming now, we really don't watch live tv anyway

About a month ago Directv added a new streaming app that pretty much gives you Directv Stream for free to satellite custmers. So you really only need one Dirctv box and can stream every channel in your package using the app. If you have a storm that messes up the sat signal you switch over to streaming. I live in MS and used the app in Gulf Shores a few days ago and could watch all my channels inc local MS channels in Alabama. Not sure if there is limited number of streams at once.
