You can find basically any TV review here LINK

The reviews for the two you linked.

Q80B

QN85B

I wanted to avoid RTINGS.com since the OP was clearly not a picture quality snob but since it was linked, here is another link

RTINGS comparison between the two samsungs

quote:

The Samsung QN85B QLED is better overall than the Samsung Q80/Q80B QLED because it uses Mini LED backlighting, which the Q80A doesn't have. This means that the QN85B has a much better local dimming feature for improved dark room performance, and it gets brighter overall. It also has much better reflection handling, making the QN85B a better choice for well-lit rooms. However, the Q80B has better motion handling as there's less motion blur behind fast-moving objects.

Thanks for all the input. Quick question regarding below.

Since I do tend to watch a lot of golf with a fast moving ball, should I get the Q80B or can the QN85B handle it?

and here we go down the rabbit hole....

You will kill yourself if you go down this path of comparing all the little differences. Either TV is an improvement over your old one which you apparently liked the picture quality just fine when it worked.

Just pick the one you like the best and dont go down the paralysis by analysis path.

I have a qn85 and I have not toy or with motion blur if the setting are good.

The only issue it has is blooming on some dark scenes and around start up screens or credits like Netflix N etc overall very good tv

I got it because of the viewing angles and sunny living room I have seating at sharp angles from the tv

It does show some reflections on dark screens too btw

I bought it two years ago tomorrow. I had the flickering repaired under warranty about 6-8 months of purchase.

My 65 inch Samsung only made it about 18 months before a couple of thin red, vertical lines popped up about an inch from the edge of the screen.

Decided to give Vizio a shot. They have a 70 inch QLED that's around $800. Going to give an extended warranty and a wall mount a shot and see if this one will last at least a few years.

Costco specifically dropped TCL products because they were having extremely high numbers of unacceptable warranty claims with them.

Was not aware of that.

I've had my lower end 55" for like 4 years now and no issues at all. My 6 series 65" still looks great.

My obligatory caution: TCL is not only made in China, TCL is owned by the Chinese Communist Party as is Hisense.

Yeah I don't let them connect to the network, only use Shields with them. They're bargain bin, so it's a crapshoot, guess I've just gotten lucky.
