So confirmed. Now the next step is either Plex, Roku, Nvidia shield (older model), or just an onn box. Any guides out there and recommendations for which hardware? Also, how many streams are allowed at one time with the good service?

Dude, why are you wasting your time with odds and ends. Just get a reliable one that people have already vouched for?
He's using IPTorrents that I invited him to but making setup as complicated as possible
Took maybe 30 minutes to get mine up with Plex Live TV. I don't care about VODs since I already have a substantial library, but I can record live TV to my library flawlessly

Roku is a nightmare and requires external plex, emby, or jellyfin media servers just to work decently and in my case a second middleware server to keep it clean.
Tivimate works on android TV and fire stick. It’s plug and play but might need shield for DVR. Onn is highly regarded.
Pia/mybunny/ipt is fine. Same service. Ipt limited to 2x stream. With pia, you can buy 50 if you want.

It’s that or listen to gripes about how great old service is/was for eternity. I prob spent 8-11 hr total but 75% was infuriating wtf lessons. Thanks again for ipt. I plan on using that soon.

Just got setup and my provider has its own tivimate custom version. Is there a way to add a local channel M3U playlist and EPG to a tivimate rollup?
Posted on 11/4/25 at 12:07 pm to FriedEggBowL
Most providers offer locals too. You just need to search for them.

got it. thanks. still getting used to CW tivimate features. Awesome service, though. And man, do they answer emails quickly. extremely pleased

Yeah, I’ve used them for years and any problem I’ve had, they fix. Their customer service alone is worth a couple of extra bucks. It’s the closest I’ve ever found to cable.

Once you get your favorites setup, it's as good or better than cable. I use an ONN 4K Plus and turned off all the junk on it. Starts instantly and resumes right at the channel you left off at and programs itself to control your tv power and volume.

Yep and with a back up, if something isn’t up to standard, just flip over to the other one.
I upgraded my back up to 4 lines. That way everyone in the house can stream movies and such, and during football, I can watch 8 games at once.
It doesn’t hurt that their referral program is the tits, lol.

Touchdown, im in and confirmed. Need to ask some questions. You can find my email in a previous post. Would love to pick your brain on some things. Thanks.

Just ask them, bro. They are straight up.

Yeah. I have to use the VOD for local channels. Wouldn't load on the TV playlist. But when you put a VOD channel into favorites, it all goes into the same list. It's really a good setup. What backup do you use?
Posted on 11/4/25 at 8:12 pm to FriedEggBowL
VOD is the back up IPTV. It’s 2 lists. VOD IPTV and TV IPTV.
Posted on 11/4/25 at 8:28 pm to FriedEggBowL
I don’t use the app so I can’t speak on it’s set up, but you should have 2 playlists.
Posted on 11/4/25 at 9:32 pm to touchdownjeebus
i do. i have VOD and TV. i thought you meant you had additional backups. thought i missed something in the setup. thanks again
Posted on 11/5/25 at 9:28 am to FriedEggBowL
The VOD playlist is officially the back up but it’s just as good, if not better, than the main.

Downloaded tivimate on my firestick and what I believe is the tvpass.org playlist (shows 195 channels I think). Only issue is none of them are in HD or even 780p. All standard definition. Can someone point me in the direction of a better picture quality playlist or what I need to do?
Surprised I got this far on my own
