Daughters iphone7 crashed and will not turn on. Called apple support last night and nothing else works to turn it on.

Apple says "no big deal" and makes us a Genius Bar appointment for Sunday (tomorrow) to likely get a new phone.

Here is the problem:
My daughter never backed up her phone for the entire 5 months she has owned it. (Not telling me this until today). Will apple be able to get her photos from her Disney trip and cruise that she is very upset about now.

She did not want cloud storage. I told her she could have it but she would have to pay for it. She said no and would back it up on her computer which was never done.

I have told her it may be a "lesson learned" the hard way. I back mine up every week.

I know I will get an answer tomorrow but figured I could ask you guys who know this technology better than me. It may help her sleep or help her dea with the negative consequence.

Thoughts?

If it wasn't backed up and won't respond when plugged in via USB, you're done. It blows my mind how people value photos so much they'll have a break down about it, but they don't mean enough to make sure they're safe.

I agree. It's what I told her when we got the phone. Mine is backed up every 2 days on my work desktop.

Looks like it will be a hard lesson learned for a child. Better cruise pictures lost than her first kids baby pictures.

I don't understand how people just don't use Google photos. Unlimited photo storage and they back up within 30 seconds of the photo being taken.

The iPhone demographic seems to be totally clueless on all things not Apple. I think that's where most of the delusion stems from.

Google photos is awesome. Free and backs up all photos automatically. Can't beat the unlimited storage.

Do you have anything?

Even a boot loop?

If not, then yes, it is likely dead.

You might be able to pay for extraction services, but it won’t be cheap. Even if it exists.

There's all kinds of storage options, Amazon Prime has free storage if you have Prime as well. No excuse not to have some kind of cloud storage if you don't want Apples.

Verizon cloud service. $5/month for 250gb. Can’t beat it.
These go on sale constantly, too.

Anything beyond 5gb. If you shoot video, 5gb will be chewed up quickly.

Mid course update.

Apple Genius Bar ran diagnostics and said can't help her.

Phone sent to forensic recovery center to see what they can find. Free evaluation and if they can find all the photos/videos then they will give her a price for recovery.

Will update final results. I appreciate the help.

For $2.99 a month, you get 200GB to share with your family. You can get 2TB if necessary for $9.99. If you have a family of iPhone users, it’s kind of a no brainer for the peace of mind to have your pics/videos/backups constantly backed up.
