just got the air. I drive enough to charge it throughout the day....and for tailgating I'll just buy the external battery made by Apple.
Like it so far. but I always like a new phone
Upgrading from 14 Pro Max....so I lose some camera capabilities that I really didnt use that much.

Wow.. great demand on the 17 Pro Max. From what I have seen a lot of people are also going base this year. May be a lot of people like me upgrading from much older devices. The 17 base is going to feel like an upgrade to a Pro for me as someone that always has base iPhones.
I lost my Sept 25-30 delivery window for Oct 7-14 when changing from Mist Blue to Black. Oh well, better than not liking the color of my phone for three years.

I bought my daughters the iPhone 17. The camera -- yes, about what we mostly pay for with upgrades --- is incredible, even coming from an iPhone 15.
I bought myself an iPhone 17 Pro. The battery life is substantially better than my iPhone 15 Pro. I haven't tinkered with mine as much as my daughters have. I went with the classic silver.
I highly recommend cases from Caudabe (waiting on mine to come in), and Andar (top leather quality).

Upgraded to an Orange 17 pro max.... told me delivery date was October 27th... it shipped overnight fedex today. Will have it tomorrow.
I've got an otterbox leather strada case... love it... apparently they don't make them anymore. I can't find one like it, made by anyone. All kinds of leather cases that detach and all that, but this was all on one piece. Suggestions?

Do you not scroll on your phone much and mostly just use it for calls? Or always use it with two hands? Trying to understand the appeal of a leather folio case even though it looks nice

17 pro max is awesome. RAM upgrade is huge and doesn't overheat like my 16 pro max did.

You're welcome. Both Nomad and Andar are great companies. I prefer Andar, simply because they have the color of leather I like most (Camel Tan).

Got my Ultra 3 in last week. The satellite connectivity for text messaging was huge plus for me. I scuba dive a lot and spend time on remote islands with little cell service. Never know if I get caught in a current on a night dive or something.

Taking some getting used to. That stupid button on the lower right side is utterly useless. It turns on the camera. So basically I turn on the camera every time I pick it up, and every 30 seconds after that. Thank goodness you can go into the settings and disable it.
They also turned the mute switch on the upper left hand side into a regular button like the volume button. Ant it’s too close to the volume buttons, so if I have to turn down the sound on my trans granny porn or hardcore Nepalese monk rap, I sometimes hit the “raise volume “ button.
Also had to ditch all of my lightning charging cables for the USB-C cables.
But I love it!!

That Damn photo "button" is useless.I can never feel the indentation/groove in time without looking at it. When I need to take a quick photo it's usually too late..
I cannot fathom what the hell Apple's marketing etc. was thinking. Did they try a mock up before they added it?
But, I lucked in to a great solution this year for the 17 Pro randomly looking for a case.
This Spigen has only a slight indentation with groves around it you can instantly feel. And it works great. Your fingers go right to it and you're ready to photo in a snap.

When is my damn iPhone going to ship? I've heard people having expected deliveries of Oct 27 but then getting the FedEx tracking info. Meanwhile, my delivery is Oct 7-14 and nothing.
I have this case already ready to go for my base 17.. Spigen as well. Photo button looks similarly covered like yours.

It was crazy how quick I was switching through games on ESPN app Saturday.
I upgraded from the same to the 17 Pro Max. First thing I noticed was how fast it switched between apps and the transitions were flawless. Speed is amazing on it. Second thing I noticed is camera image quality, especially on the front facing cam. Lastly, the battery is lasting me a couple extra hours.
