iPhone 14 or 14 Pro Coming From iPhone 12 - Worth Upgrading To Either?

I currently have an iPhone 12 (Regular, not Pro). I have no problems with it. Still quick, decent battery, etc.
I'm with Verizon and have no plans to leave Verizon. Verizon is offering $800 to trade back my 12 which is the same price of the lowest storage 14 and $200 less than the lowest storage 14 Pro.
I have 6 months left of my current monthly payments for my 12. Monthly payment is $33.33 minus $18.33 (Monthly promo credit) for a net of $15.00 a month I'm paying for the 12. To get the $800 credit for the 12, I have to pay off the remaining 6 months. They don't take into account monthly promo credit when you pay it off, so I would roughly be losing out on 110 bucks by paying it off right now.
Another catch is you still have to pay taxes on the new phone, so the credit for the 12 does not cover the taxes for the new phone. There's also and upgrade fee of $35 they hit you with.
If I'm seeing things correctly, overall and over time, I'd be paying roughly $225 for a regular 14 and $445 for 14 Pro. Anything you see that I'm not taking into account?
It seems like a regular 14 wouldn't be much different than I'm used to with a regular 12; a little bit faster, battery a little better (I'm at 91% battery health on my 12), etc. The Pro would obviously be more noticeable, but still not a huge difference than what I'm used to. Anyone else in a similar situation and let me know what you did or what you're thinking of doing? One of the drawbacks you might say is being locked in with Verizon, but I don't mind that as I have no plans on leaving.
Any insights, thoughts, etc would be appreciated.

Mainly all about the camera.

Thanks for cutting to the chase. I don't care that much about the camera, so you've helped me a bunch.

I'm under the impression the battery life is a good bit better from 12 to 14. I think the 12 is particularly bad at battery life.

At this point with pretty much all phones, it is all about how much the camera and/or battery has improved.

I have a 12, and am considering the 14 pro, but leaning heavily toward sticking with the 12 another year.
Zero interest in the regular 14.

Is the Dynamic Island worth a shite or just a marketing gimmick?

Frankly, I’m more interested in the higher refresh rate display, I love it on my iPad Pro.

I went from 12 to 14 pro. This is the first pro model I've had and I like the new notch thing. It's cool.
I don't care about the cameras, and it's somewhat noticeably better in terms of screen brightness and refresh rate. 120Hz is worth it to me. Always on display is kinda cool. Some hate it. I don't mind it. I just wanted it. It's not anything incredible in terms of upgrades though.

How much better has the battery been? That would be one of the main reasons I would upgrade.

I got my 14 Pro just now. I went from an XR model. Substantially better experience.

Just made the same switch to the pro 14 max. I think its well worth it for the screen alone. First phone I've had that I don't need to worry about using it outdoors in direct sunlight or with sunglasses on. Always on screen also worth it to me. Camera is better too.

Dynamic island doesn't really do much for me yet but I'm told as apps start to learn how to use it and live sports role out with ios 16.1 it will be a lot more useful.

I'm not the one to give battery advice. I have a charger everywhere I go. I don't drain battery. However, a main complaint is that battery life is not as good and the most logical reason is Always On display. Just turn that off and it's fine I'm sure if it becomes an issue.

Better camera is always worth it

I saw no reason to pay $300-$400 to go from a 13 promax to a 14 promax. Previous years I could have upgraded for $100 and that was usually worth it. The improvements are kind of MEH this year, well and usually are but a $100 upgrade for a fresh warranty and some slight upgrades was keeping me hooked, and who doesn't like a new shiny thing.

Upgraded from an 11 to a 14 and love it. It just depends on the person. Some will keep em til they're dead others will upgrade yearly. The amount of use I get out of it for so little a month is fine.

What’s the biggest difference you’ve noticed? Have the same but shockingly my 11 is still rolling no issues
