Well, leave aside the issue that you shouldn't be using Chrome anyway.

Chromium, Brave, and Vivaldi may also have an issue as they are Chromelike but I don't know for sure.

Most people using Chrome most likely were auto-updated to this "fix" before Google ever announced it. In fact, unless you purposefully turned off auto update (whether in Chrome browser on your desktop/laptop, ChromeOS on your Chromebook, or auto app updates on iOS and Android devices), you are currently on the updated/protected version having done nothing.

Google built chrome to data mine. If you are worried about that sort of thing, you shouldn’t be using chrome.

I’m already too far in bed with Google or Facebook to care.

About the only way you haven't already autoupdated is if you keep you PC on 100% of the time with an open Chrome browser. That has almost every person on the planet already updated.

Very few people turn off the autoupdate on their browser and even fewer people keep the browser open 100% of the time.

Most people I know concerned about that sort of thing (or developers) use FireFox.

Firefox is the way to go if you're even semi privacy minded.

Its come among way in the past couple years.

Is it possible to use Firefox on a Chromebook?

Would it even make a difference since Chrome OS is still likely collecting all of the data?

If you're using a chrome book, just hit the snooze button on the alarm and go back to sleep.
