Well I'm RMAing my Pixel 2 XL. Everything has been great, but the LED notification light will not work (yes I turned on the "blink light" option). I had someone from Google Support troubleshoot and the end determination was it must be a faulty unit. He said it was the first he's heard of this issue, so hopefully this won't affect too many people.

Have you tried downloading light manager app?
I got my pixel 2 xl earlier this week and I like it alot. I like the screen. I see a little blue tint when tilted but doesn't bother me. The phone is really quick and smooth. Camera is nice too. I think it's a keeper. My 6p was still running strong but wanted to upgrade.

I tried a different 3rd party app earlier. It worked when in test mode, but didn't work otherwise. So the light itself works, but nothing is triggering it.

Come to think of it, I've never seen a notification light on mine. I just searched and blink light was off. There's so many settings, I'm still finding shite to change.
Google is emailing people that they are fixing the high pitch whine soon. They already said that about the clicking.

My XL 2 RMA comes today
Will report back
Buddy got an iPhone X that I was able play with. OLED screen and it's much worse than their past displays. It's gotta tint to it and apple put a statement out that burn in is to be expected.

After a 2nd factory reset it seems my LED notifications are working now. Before I cancel my RMA, can anyone with a Pixel 2 XL tell me if the LED light turns on when you plug it into the charger? Because it's still not doing that.

No mine doesn't, my pixel didn't do that either

Thanks.
. Looks like I'm back in business. My RMA doesn't ship until Monday so I will cancel it.

You can with the light manager app. You can also change the colors for different notifications (blue for text, red for missed call, green for fully charged, etc.) Glad you got your light working at least.

Just got my new update. Saturated colors really impacted the display. I like it but I might like it the other way better actually
Posted on 11/6/17 at 9:45 pm to roach3
Definitely better the other vivid way (now referred to as boosted). The saturated mode is just too much.

Agreed as well. Not a fan of the saturated mode. Boosted mode is the best of the three options.
This is being picky but i almost wish boosted mode was maybe a 20% boost instead of 10%.
It's like they went natural, 10% boost, 1000% saturated and me being picky wants something somewhere in between boost and saturated.

I wonder if Google did the "1000%" saturated as a "see, we told you so" response to those saying natural wasn't as good as a saturated display.

Is this an xl only change? I don't see anything on my 2 settings other than a vivid colors on/off toggle
Posted on 11/7/17 at 10:34 am to Maximus
Maybe. But the update was supposed to fix the clicking noise in the 2.

Did you update to the Nov 5 security patch?
Posted on 11/7/17 at 12:09 pm to That's BS
I never got a notification for it. I just checked for updates and it's updating now.
It's there now. Defaulted to boosted.
