I’m looking to buy one camera for outside and one for inside that I can access from my cell phone while I’m on the go.

Nest. Simple to set up and use.

I went the Arlo route but I'm sure Nest are great too. I bought a 2 cam setup for front and back door of my house and it works great. Just got the Abode security system for inside and I'm good complete DIY.

Did you go with Arlo, Arlo Pro or Arlo Pro 2.
The first one is the original.

I saw the Arlington 4 pack for indoor/outdoor.
I like the neat but it’s wired.

I have 4 Nest cameras and I'm very satisfied with them. I thought long and hard about Arlo but in the end I couldn't see myself dragging out a ladder and changing batteries on a regular basis.
Nest has a great camera and the app functions very well. They quality of the product comes at a reasonable price. And the ability to integrate with a myriad of other platforms seems to be endless.
My only complaint about the Nest brand is the cost of subscribing to their service if you want to keep your recorded video past 3 hours. However, when you consider the amount of data they have to store for their customers it's easy to see that there is a cost to their company that can't be made up in the product's initial price. I look at it as equal to paying for a monitoring service.

Has anyone tried the Amazon cameras? It looks like they recently purchased Ring and have partnered with an outdoor camera company as well.

I use the Blink cameras and I don't have any complaints. Amazon also bought them. The app is easy and I believe you can connect 5 cameras per sync module. I have orbi wifi and have a camera in my shed that's about 100yds away. The lithium batteries last for months. The one in my shed is going on a year.

I have the original Arlo. I like them. If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with the Arlo Pro. I'm not sure the Pro 2 is worth it. Nest is great, but as someone mentioned the subscriptions are a let down. The batteries on my Arlo aren't that bad. I can get around 5 months or so out of them with motion turned on. The new ones are rechargeable.
If you are putting them in places where running power to them won't be a pain, I'd give Nest a good look.

Arlo Pro. Didn’t see the need to spend the extra $ on 2.

The battery lasts like 6 months between charges. If they’re really high up you can get a solar panel to continuously charge the battery and never need to climb a ladder.
ETA: Arlo gives you a week of free video storage.

Costco has a 3 camera Arlo Pro bundle, base station, and 4 batteries for $399 after $100 off until Sunday, I think. That’s by far the lowest price that I found. I had an original Arlo bundle and the new base station links up to the cameras a bit faster than the original one. It seems to me that the cameras start to record on motion a bit earlier than the originals as well.

Either of the Arlo pro and Nest should be good. Both of these cameras have amazing 2way communication which i think is necessary in every wifi cams nowadays. Nest got's a way better resolution though - 1080p
