I've got 5 Ubiquiti Unifi in wall APs covering my house which work great. More expensive than using 1 or 2 of their bigger ufo APs, but they work for me. I could definitely get away with just 2 or 3 but I'd rather have strong 5GHz coverage everywhere.

If you're still looking at mesh take a look at Amplifi; it's by Ubiquiti too.

I have Orbi with the satellite in a guest house about 150 ft from the router. Works great!

This video compares the various models except the new nano model. This guy has some good networking videos (he does it for a living) and learned how to setup my Ubiquiti network from him.

FWIW, the UAP-AC-PRO is the #1 best seller on Amazon for access points and the UAP-AC-LITE is #2. The guy in the video says he uses the lite at his house.

If I was going to install just one AP then I'd probably go for the pro. If I was to install multiple APs then I'd go with the lite. This is what I did with their in wall units; I installed several of the lite versions.
