but an OSX iPad Pro would really eat into MBA and MBP sales
Only saving grace would be if iOS 9 (and moving forward) is a huge step forward.

maybe macbook and macbook air, not the MBP

This medical app seems pretty cool. I have no use for it but it's interesting.

I thought it was rumored $799 starting price,
So we're both right?!

$799, 32GB, iOS, doesn't come with the pencil or KB.

$799 for the 32GB, $99 for the Pencil and then $169 for the keyboard

Yeah not sure how you'd get away with only 32GB.
Getting the 128, pen, and cover you're at about 1350 easy.

$499 for the Air 2 might be where I head.

I can guarantee that my iPad 2 will brick

I have the "new iPad" 3rd generation, shortly before they replaced it with the 4th gen six months later. It won't handle anything beyond iOS 7.
EDIT: I'm excited about Siri-integrated Apple TV, since it'll prompt the other stream box makers to implement some actually competent voice search functions.

I have the iPad 3 and it's time to upgrade, the guts in it aren't up to snuff. I was hoping for the Air 3 this iteration, but if the Air 2's can come down a bit I'll spring on one of those since they are awesome tablets.

Between iOS9 and the massive use-cases for small HD yet powerful mobile computing using LTE-enabled devices like this, I disagree.
My previous POE was making the switch to iOS (they're a governmental agency; imagine that). One of our chief's who has a large group of mobile auditors was putting in an order of Surface Pro's with WiFi cards and smart keyboards. They put the hold on the order at first and I'm almost 100% positive they probably saw this product in the pipeline.
Coupled with IBM teaming up with APPL to help with Enterprise, they're not aiming at casual consumer use. This will be a high-end toy for folks who don't want a PC or strictly for Professional Use cases.

I have the same one, we got screwed.

iOS 9 works a lot better than 8 did... Not as good as 7 was though.
