i was sitting next to #1 pixel2 fanboy yesterday and he told me he removed it because he wasn't getting half of his texts.
that would be a deal-breaker for me so i'd pay careful attention to whatever "P" threads are out there right now and make sure you're comfortable with what you're getting into.

I will say it's ridiculous what you have to go through even for an enthusiast to get a Galaxy the way you want it.
When I tried my first Samsung last year with my current S8+ I made sure to get the international unlocked version with the Exynos cpus, and more importantly an unlocked bootloader.
Luckily it's popular enough worldwide to maintain a pretty large XDA community with a ton of roms/kernels/tweaks and constant updates.
Only in this scenario can I say that it's probably my favorite phone I've had, or right there tied with the Nexus 4.
I'll probably look to upgrade this fall or early next year, depends on that Galaxy X, if it's the first foldable phone then yeah sold.

Too late

I just don't think texts coming through is an android p thing, that sounds like to me more of a network provider issue. Since Ive been with verizon the last 3 years, I've had 3 phones, and I've lost texts consistently over all the phones I've had. That never happened with ATT, I doubt android, beta or not, would cause a sms text not getting to the phone.

I personally haven't experienced any issue with text not coming through while on P.
Once it's installed you'll want to go into settings:gestures and turn on swipe up from home button.
Android P stole a lot of gestures from iphone X. It takes a little getting used to but i like it.
Swipe up from home button brings up recent apps
Second swipe up or long initial swipe up brings up app drawer
swipe right on home button toggles between last two apps
swipe right on home button and hold lets you toggle even further back
For now swipe left does nothing.

On P right now, thanks for the hints there. I was just reading the list of new features, the best I've noticed so far is the notifications

Just turned on all the gestures, I will use these for sure.

I love Android P for the week I had it. I posted before about it, but I use total wireless and the Sim APN settings do not play well with my Pixel. When I switched to P, NY APN settings got all screwed up and my lte was super slow. Hope they have it fixed by the actual release

Just want to come and say since around noon getting on P and my battery is still at 92% after 5 hours, unreal, pixel 2 was great battery life on Oreo but this is amazing

Yeah the battery optimization is pretty clutch.

Upgraded to P earlier today, digging it so far
Battery life is great unless you play PUBG
