My first purchase was in October 1997. A mystery novel by Colin Dexter and the Sugar Busters book by Leighton Steward. Both are still available.

I don't have my original account but I can remember vividly making a list of prices of books on Amazon vs the LSU bookstore and ended up ordering my books on Amazon and selling them back to Amazon for more money than the bookstore offered. It is amazing how much the book stores screw students, but it goes all the way to the publisher and everyone in between being in on the screwjob.

Very first purchase..
First tech..
It's funny, I had the CD purchase but then nothing until 2013, when I clearly got a promotion at work and wasn't broke as hell anymore because i started buying something about every month

I earlier posted that I had bought a couple of books from Amazon in October 1997, but now after thinking back, I'm certain I ordered a few books earlier, probably in April 1997. I might have had a different account, but I was working in Yemen until June 1997, but I had ordered books online shipped to my company's office in Dallas. They would then put the books in the next "pouch" they sent to us. I remember receiving the books in Yemen less than a week after I ordered them online.
