For those of you who have FIBER connection to your house

What service package do you have and what are you paying?
For example, I have the 150 Mpbs download and 50 Mpbs upload and pay $75 per month, after receiving a $15 monthly retention credit. I have been a customer for over 10 years.
The GIG internet plan is $91 per month (for new customers), for the first 12 months and then $126 after the promotion expires.
Both seem "high" to me, but I'm in an area where this is my only Fiber choice and the alternative (COX) is simply not good.

Att fiber. 1gb plan, unlimited. 80/month for the first year, 90/month after that. Haven't had any issues yet. Consistently see dl/ul speeds around 400-500mbps over wifi

EATEL is who I am with. Service wise, they are great. Price wise, I have to think they are on the higher side?
Can you really tell a speed difference for you and your family from 150 down to 1 Gig down?

Not about speed with us. It’s a bunch of things streaming at the same time sharing bandwidth.

Same for us as well.
I have two young children and Spotify is constantly going, along with Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime in the evening.
I haven't noticed any hiccups on any our streaming devices, so I am not sure if we would stand to benefit from the additional bandwidth speeds.

There is pretty much 0 reason you need to have gig at your house. Even 150Mbps is high for a family of 4.
You want to save money.. get less bandwidth. You'll only notice a huge difference on large downloads. Streaming, gaming, and most downloads will still be plenty fast. A single 4k stream runs around 13Mbps.. so unless your whole family is streaming in 4K you won't see a problem. 1080p streams are about 7Mbps. Audio streams are less than 1Mbps. Most games only use 1-1.5Mbps. Do the math for your family.

I have this same plan. I think you can get an extra $10 off if you have an att cellphone plan. They wouldn't do it for me because I have att Pre-paid,ita got to be post paid.

if you are just netflixing, you dont "need" gig. I run a server so gig is great. tops out in the 950+ mbps. 80 bucks a month. every year i call ATT and tell them i want to 10 buck discount and they give it to me.

Yes. $40/month is the non-bundle price up here. I'm in a competitive area as I have 3 gigabit fiber options and 2 gigabit cable options where I live.

AT&T tech here. Can't tell you shite about prices except what I overhear from our customers. But, from what I hear, if you've got ATT fiber available in your area, it's a pretty damn robust service for the price. FWIW, I disconnect at least one Cox customer, on average, every day--almost all because of price.
The max hsia most folks need--unless they have a server farm in their back bedroom--is 100Mbs/symmetrical. Our 100x100 fiber HSIA speeds actually run out to 120/120, and unless you're connecting 20 or more active devices at a time, that's plenty of speed for a whole family streaming video, audio, etc.
ATT sells speeds in tiers from 50x50, 100X100, 300x300, and 1000x1000. Since it's full fiber optic to the prem, the speed is allocated/dedicated to each customer, and there aren't any variations based upon other user's usage/time of day/etc.
Just my $0.02. Or my tree fiddy, I guess. FWIW. YMMV. YOLO. #SIBR
