DirecTV Problems!

Picture freezing constantly the last few weeks and DirecTV says no problems. I know others in different areas with same problem. Please check in if you are or have experienced this. TIA

We've had more blips than usual over the last 2 weeks. I can only remember it being annoying one night, but I have noticed it.
DirecTV was great once, AT&T absolutely ruined it.

Stops, jitters and freezes here. Seems to be concentrated on the DISC, HIST, BRVO, HGTV channels in the 200 to 290 channel range. If I rewind just a bit and play from that spot, lagging a few seconds behind, it usually never happens again.

I’ve noticed a few issues lately as well, but I’ve only had it since early January.
I’m using a Genie 2 and wireless HD boxes.

I have DISH satellite ,have been happy-no problems at all.I almost switched to Direct TV shortly after ATT bought them.They offered me such a good deal as a bundle and I almost went for it,lot cheaper than DISH.I went home and looked up reviews on Consumer Affairs.com and Pissed consumer.com,quickly changed my mind as reviews were awful.We have ATT cellphones and landline with no issues,getting ready to drop landline.ATT guy called me Wed.trying to sell me Direct TV,sorry he called me as I gave him an earful.
I don’t understand why ATT would buy Direct TV and then let it go down the tube.

Be ready for them to frick things up for a couple+ months..I had to deal with wrong info and them promising me they had taken care of the problems. They deducting money out of my checking account w/o my permission. Just a complete shitshow..

I’ve always had issues with picture freezing but only during commercials. I noticed it happening during the same commercials and at the same point in them.
Assuming your signal strength is good, unplug your receiver for a couple minutes and allow it to reboot. That often fixes any issues I have.
Hijack: I am constantly getting prompted to setup my new DirecTV remote despite selecting Do Not Ask Again. However, I don’t have a new DirecTV remote. Anybody else have this issue?

My DTV menus look like shite. How in the bell can they not get menus to look decent? Blurry text, slow response, etc.
Also, I can’t get my DTV units to connect to internet. I’ve tried everything and they just can’t find the gosh darn internet.
I’m very close to giving up on DTV and going to Comcast.

Relatively happy Dish customer here. Dish may not have problems with freezing and glitches, but at least you have HBO and WBRZ ABC. We have been without ABC since August and HBO since November. Thankful the Hopper allows an OTA input so I can bypass the dispute foolishness (at least for ABC).
However, I am starting to wonder how much longer these companies (DISH and ATT) are going to prop up satellite considering how many customers they are losing. Streaming TV isn't quite there yet to support the masses, but it will be soon. You have to think the overhead to manage a satellite fleet and customer hardware must be extremely expensive.

How are you connecting them to the network?

I’ve been having the same problem for months and after going round and round with customer service and techs, they sent me a new router. This did absolutely nothing to help the problem. Fortunately I only have a month or two left on the contract that the AT&T samseman swindled me into. I believe it’s the hard drive in the DVR/ receiver going bad but they won’t listen.

Every time I pick up the remote to change to a channel in the 200s. It goes to Ch 2 and the Dr HO Back Brace Infomercial. frick Dr HO

I have had the same issue, it finally resolved itself. I think a update must have fixed it.
