Yeah it's pretty eye opening when you switch.

Really changed how I looked at things as an American that typically stays on the same brand like everyone else does even if that is ignorant as a consumer. Actually tried a Nokia Windows Phone back then first before Samsung.

Glad I did though, I honestly couldn't imagine still having an iPhone in 2024 unless I was a girl or over age 50.

Luckily they won't be fricking up our RCS chats much longer.

For texts, try the paid textra app.

The nova launcher seems to be the most popular launcher. Much better than stock android launcher.

I'm truly kidding, I like apple and android, I just like apple better for the ecosystem.

I agree. I wish I could switch to android, but the apple system is just better. People get mad about that, but I don't see why. If they're happy with android, great. I'm happy for them. It's just a more bloated, less reliable system.

I have never had an iPhone but I'm sure this is true since Apple is able to control their system with proprietary hardware and software.
And for anyone who needs this level of integration across their devices I would guess that Apple's expensive hardware is worth the investment.

But most budget minded folks don't need this level of integration.
Average users have a basic PC or laptop with the Windows OS and they are fine with an inexpensive Android phone.
This is true for our family and most of the people we know.
We are retired homebodies, and our phones are connected to our router Wi-Fi most of the time for phone calls and text messages. We do web browsing and Amazon shopping on Windows PCs.

We have LG V30s with SD cards that allow us to store as many pictures, etc. as we like. The charging port recently got worn out on mine and I picked up a refurbished V30 on Amazons for 71 bucks that looks like a brand new phone. Restored the LG backup on the SD card that was in the old phone into the new phone and I'm good to go.

We use Microsoft's phone link to connect our V30s allowing us to type text messages on PC keyboards, see all text messages, make and receive calls on the PC and view all of the pictures on the phone.

Just depends on the person. My big screen TV is Samsung, PC monitor is Samsung, phone is the Fold 5 at $2K. My entire kitchen is Samsung appliances.

I think the ecosystem excuse is just that, an excuse.

Amercians are very simple people that don't like change. Just changing phone makers is a big deal for a lot.

Yeah but android actually innovates you're not buying the exact same thing over and over like Apple post Jobs. It's just a very basic system designed for girls at the end of the day. Some people like that, others just want more.

I have an iPhone now and couldn’t disagree more with this statement. The only thing that is better on iPhone is the integrated messaging app and that isn’t really even true if you’re going Android to Android it’s the same. I’ve had more bugs\freezes\emergency updates due to unreliable software glitches on this iPhone than I ever had on Android. Talk to text is abysmal on apple and that’s a very important feature to me. I’ve had the 14 and now 15 pro max and I’m pretty sure this 15 is my last iPhone.

No, in 2023 Apple had the top 7 selling phones globally.

I like both platforms, I'm just saying obviously they are doing something right.

Apple may have had the top 7 selling phones, but according to this article in March, "As of Q4 2023, Android smartphones accounted for 56% of quarterly worldwide smartphone sales, while iPhone smartphone market share reached 37% in the same quarter." It also says that "As of early 2024, Android has a 70.69% market share worldwide."

So, while Apple is gaining ground globally...they are still far behind Android in the total number of Smart Phones worldwide.

I’d argue having better working apps and having apps only available on iOS is a big plus.

Getting shite videos and photos from Android users also suck arse. I know that’s apples fault but I still don’t wanna deal with that.
