I wish Ring would release their damn Alarm. That is really going to throw a monkey wrench into home alarm pricing plans.

I hope Amazon doesn't sink it to keep the status quo now that they own Ring.

I've heard Ring just entered their 2nd round of testing with the Beta users.

On a regular basis. Works great and takes all the guess work out of what type of garage door opener is on the job.

Lowes Version is slightly cheaper. Believe they are the same thing.

Correct they are both made my Nortek who is one of the largest Z-wave manufactures. They have a GD00Z-4 too which is zwave plus.

now to use it with IFTTT you have to PAY A MONTHLY FEE

This is the dumbest thing ever. I hate the extra cost after paying for the product model.

Ah, Amazon is the zwave plus version. Really thought Lowes would be too because they clearanced out all the Iris garage controllers, but now they are back, so I assumed they are newer.

I recently ditched smartthings and moved all of my home automation to my Abode Gateway.

Really liking the interface and having one app for everything. The only thing I havent moved to Abode is Phillips Hue, even though abode can control Hue without the Hue bridge I still prefer Hues interface.

Schlage locks, GE switches, go control garage door, nest cameras and thermostats....all in one app.

They are making a fully functional home security system that will be $10 a month, wifi primary with LTE backup for contacting the alarm center. The $10 a month will also include unlimited cameras/doorbell at that residence.

Can purchase motion detectors and standard window/door open switch alarms. Fire/CO2 alarms are planned as well.

$10 a month blows the doors off anything else out there, monthly price for cloud cameras isn't that big of a deal any longer.

More powerful and a much cleaner interface. I hated the smartthings app.

I don't see that happening now with Amazon. At least not the way it was presented originally.

Yeah, they settled the lawsuit already. I had my preorder in before that was squashed, should of been good to go as soon as it was settled, makes me think Amazon has other plans.

Amazon going to be pure home surveillance.....for someone else

I mean, this is where it sort of gets scary. I was ok with the Echo, but.....
