Biggest complaint about iPhone 7 that is absurd

Finally, they got rid of that 3.5mm analog headphone plug popularized in the early 80's by the Sony Walkman, even though they put the adapter in the box.
The main complaints: no port (of course) and can't charge and listen to wired headphones at the same time. The wired earbuds are also supplied in the box.
Many audiophiles simply do not want wireless (Bluetooth) b/c they believe the sound is inferior. I would agree that the audio quality over BT in yesteryears was terrible.
However, I move around a lot and got tired of being tethered to my phone, so I researched extensively about the new BT versions and headphones. I came across a review of 8 or so audiophiles that work in the industry, from audio magazine reviewers, industry professionals, and acoustical engineers. They were given 10 to 15 (if I remember correctly) different brand BT headphones ranging in price from $49 to $750 (or more) and asked to give a full review.
ALL 8 ranked the Jabra headphones, the best in sound quality, ease of use, comfort after wearing for a workday, battery life, quality of build, and outside noise-cancellation. It beat out the 2 or 3 Beats and very high-end models. I bought them for $199 on Amazon, I believe. Even though I have never had to, I plugged them into the audio port to see if I could tell a difference and I couldn't (disclaimer: I am not an audiophile.)
I wish I could wear earbuds, but nothing has ever fit in my ears. They fall out, aren't snug, etc. Maybe my ears are just weird and I need some custom ones. Believe me, I've tried so many brands, even the ones that go around your ear like a hearing aid to no avail. So, I just leave the Apple ones in the box and sell them when I sell my phone.
The ones I have show up on the phone as Jabra REVO 4.0.0
They probably have newer and more advanced models, but you will not be disappointed with Jabra. (It has an app also that has an equalizer and controls to further customize your experience.)

Would an audiophile even use a phone for a source ?

Is it possible to be more pretentious than the hobbyist audiophile?
Posted on 9/8/16 at 6:07 pm to Korkstand
In my search for high end headphones years ago, I concluded that no, it is not possible.

I'm all for banning the word audiophile outright.

I'm all for it, but isn't everyone who loves music an audiophile? Maybe I don't hear the range or whatnot that those professionals hear, but if you can't tell the difference between a plugged in analog (outdated) and a digital signal, does it really matter?

I take square payments through my phone, I do have an Apple pay/nfc/chip reader, and it is bluetooth. The issue is, the magstripe card reader only plugs into a headphone port. This just made it impossible to use a square magstripe reader on an iphone.

Would you accept "audiophool" as the replacement?

I believe insufferable douchebag is the correct term

You forgot "delusional".

There will be an update the device/software within a week or two. Nap: Just don't upgrade yet, it won't interfere with your business at all...
Your Square will now be Lightning.

Will it still not work through the lightning adapter to "headphone port" that is supplied with the newest iPhone????

I would almost guarantee it would because that adapter is analog. However, I neither work for Apple or Square, so I cannot swear to it. But, analog is VERY simple to convert to digital, if that's the implementation that Apple has gone with. If I was Napoleon, I would try it.
People still want that ANALOG
... Geez, a digital card to a digital reader, converted to an analog signal, interpreted and converted back into digital. Simpler: Digital to digital (and more reliable).
People still want that ANALOG

oh ffs
knowing apple, it's terribly quality just like their free earbuds for the last 10+ years.
if you actually pay more for decent headphones and then use the apple supplied converter.
itd be like going back 15 years in audio technology
I CAN NOT STOP LOL

Although I totally agree, I've always left the earbuds in the box (they've never fit my ears). That's not why people stay with iPhone. Those new wireless Airbuds are rediculous looking. Dependability is key. Gimmickry can't save Apple w/ the phone as it accounts for 65+% of its profits. We'll see...

Some people will accept anything apple does as dogma.

Are you composing music on your phone?
Posted on 9/9/16 at 7:37 am to TiVoTiger
BT in my car vs the aux input is night and day. BT blows, like listening in a tin can.
Plus the credit card reader issue.
Plus the BT earbuds that will litter the airport cause when they fall out of your ear, there is no wire to catch them.
Plus the millions of other speakers and such that need headphone jack and power to run your tailgates and other events.
If they had two lightning ports, that would have been a good first start.
