Not looking to spend a lot of money, but would like:

My wife and I to both be able to control from phone.
Room sensor - our bedroom is very far from the thermostat and can get uncomfortable while the rest of the house is cold.

Anyone here have Nest E or ecobee lite?

I've had the Nest E for over a year. I love it. I control it 90% of the time from the app on my phone. And it learns your habits and adjusts accordingly. Plus it knows when I'm coming home and turns on before I walk in. Freaky really lol

I can't get mine to do that. I have the regular nest and that thing will do eco mode all the time even when I'm home. I think you need to have it in an area that you are always in our have a sensor.

Nest hands down.
They have multiple generations for different prices.

I got my two, gen 4s, from Facebook Marketplace.

$225 a piece from Amazon.
Got them for $75 a piece. Brand new.

Call an ac guy to fix the issue with your room being warmer than your house. Then, buy any smart thermostat. Honeywell makes some cheap ones that you could both control.

Nest E has the same guts as the regular nest. Just has less options as far as Syrena are concerned and doesn’t come in the fancy finishes.

I have the ecobee lite. It can be had or $69 through the Comed marketplace if you're a ComEd customer.

Good deals on the other smart thermostats too.

So found the problem with mine. You can't have home/away assist on both the phone and thermostat. You have to turn off thermostat or it will override the phone.

Check your local utility company, many have programs for rebated, subsidized or even free smart thermostats.

In Los Angeles, they were giving away free, installed nests.

Yep, caught my Ecobee Lite on sale, then got a rebate from Entergy. Only came out of pocket like $25.

Trying to decide between the two. What factor(s) make one get the higher one? I have those at my old house and like them, but wondering if I would be equally happy with the E at the new house.

Ecobee is great.

Check with your power company. Entergy offers rebates on smart thermostat upgrades.
