Wondering if any of you fellas can point me in the right direction for one... I'm a big boy, 6'3 250lb, and need something that will lean back and still hold my fat arse up on a nightly basis.

Budget is $300 or less, whatcha got?

They make "big and tall" chairs, go to Office Depot or Staples to check them out. Shaq even has a line of chairs. They definitely hold up better than the standard office chairs.

You can probably find one under $300 or in that ball park, but you might need to up your budget another $50-$100 depending on what you like and what's in stock.

I'm using the HON "Sadie": LINK

Very solid / heavy duty, right at your budget, and price can fluctuate a bit.

Do not buy a chair from a big box store at all.

Search for an office supply store that sells used furniture, you can buy chairs meant to support your back for 10 hours a day every day for 15-20 years like steelcase or herman miller chairs. They will charge a fraction of new price. I got a steelcase leap chair 5 years ago for $125, I can't tell you how much better my back feels.

For the love of god, please don't do this. As a gamer, a gaming chair would be the last office chair I would buy.

Workpro makes a $300 imitator of a Herman Miller Aeron called the Quantum 9000.

I would splurge and get an Aeron. But it’s about double your budget if you buy a refurbished or used one.

Last year, I splurged for an HM Embody and don't regret it one bit. I've had lower back issues for years from playing tennis and an office job. I game too, so I'm in the chair alot and easily justified the cost for me.

Also, bought an electric standing desk too so I can switch from sitting to standing easily.

If you didn’t get the roller blade wheels, you’re missing out!

Wife and I both do a fair amount of work in an office at home. We have two desks in it- it is decently large. The floors are wood and fairly dark stained, so about 2 years ago now, I grabbed two HM Aerons (I think they were about $550 apiece. I searched for a while for them). She and I both love them. They just feel some level of sturdy beyond your normal $100-150 chair that is everywhere. I’ve never sat in any of their others, but I can only imagine they’re just as quality.

I can’t find a good exam room chair, and patients break them very frequently. They’re a little big, and armless is preferred in that application, but I’ll be buying some more before the year is out, and I’m going to look into more of their stuff- replacing chairs every year is starting to annoy me, and I know that these stand up to some abuse.

I have the Branch Ergonomic chair. It's $30 above your budget but it's super sturdy, casters are smooth, and it has pretty decent adjustment options.

Just up the budget and get a Herman Miller. Buy once, cry once.

HM Aeron is an awesome chair but I like a higher back with a headrest.

I work from a home office and spend 8-10 hrs/day in a chair. I have this and it's held up great and is very comfy yet supportive.

A bunch of guys have been getting this one or a similar one from fantasy labs (don't recall the one I have being a big and tall variety) where I work. I have one and I like it.

They're higher than your stated budget, but check out Secret Labs. They make gaming chairs, but they're great for office chairs as well. Really well made and comfortable. They make an XL version that is wider and holds more weight.

Recommended height: 5ft11”-6ft9”
Recommended weight: 175lbs-395lbs

Go to a used office supply store. I bought a Steelcase Leap (I'm probably about your weight) five years ago, and it's still going strong. Padding probably needs a butt pad now, but otherwise still functional. The chair, used, cost me $175 or so, and I got to pick whichever chair I wanted out of ~50 chairs in the warehouse.

I swear you can't smell existing farts.

For those that live in Baton Rouge, where would be the best place to go to try out a bunch of different chairs?
