I am the first house in a new development and Coxs told me 3 months. Att ran fiber already. It is awesome. Never had anything this fast. The modem router combo works fine for me. I still get a strong signal across the street and at the back of the yard. Had purchased Google wifi, but returned it because I don't need it

I have 200 Mbps service with Spectrum for $59.99 a month, non- promotional price. Live in DFW area. You should tell them that you know they can provide that price for that service. You may have to provide your modem, as the one they likely will want to use has only 8 bonded channels. You'll need sixteen. Ask how many bonded channels you can acquire in your area.

I pay $90 for about the same speed with Cox. We only have internet so it's not bundled with anything. We also have a 1TB data cap which we've exceeded once.

Be warned - the Wi-Fi on the garbage Pace router that ATT installs is almost unusable. I got a Unifi AC access point and have had 0 Wi-Fi issues since.

After the flood Cox had our internet up in a day or 2 (we didn't flood but about half of our neighborhood did). AT&T was 2 weeks.

That is interesting. I live in DS and my experience was the opposite. I was very fortunate that my subdivision did not flood, but everything around it did. I had UVerse and AT&T internet at the time and it never went out. All my neighbors that had any Cox services were down for 5 days.

Our service has been rock solid. Aside from the flood we've had maybe 30 minutes of outages in 5 years. The speed is almost always consistent. I just think $90 for 150 Mbps is kind of high.

ucky SOB.

I would love to finally be able to permanently end my association with cox cable.

I agree to an extent. i would love for any competition for high speed internet so i can stop paying $85/month for internet. Cox is the only internet provider in my neighborhood, so when i say i want to cancel unless they lower the prices, they know i'm bluffing.

I have rarely ever seen our salespeople out in a neighborhood before fiber was actually available. I have had many customers tell me the salesmen told them it was fiber to the prem (fttp) when it actually turned out to be fiber to the node (fttn). My best advice regarding availability is to check the website every week or so. The salesmen usually are out in force once a neighborhood is turned up. The other surefire signs are of course the orange inner-duct being directionally bored throughout the neighborhood and the bucket trucks with splicing trailers showing up to do work.

Mine was. Both laptops in the house would disconnect literally about every 3 - 5 minutes even though the signal strength was high. Tried all the recommendations, disabling IPv6, turning up the power, etc. Nothing worked except the AP.

It was no problem for me. From the sounds of it though, I'm not surprised my experience and yours differed.
