Anyone regret wall mounting their TV?

I'm wishing I would have held on to the feet that hold up my TV instead of tossing them so I could just take it off the wall and put on the entertainment center. It's such a huge pain to change inputs. The other night a friend had to come over to help me swap out some HDMI inputs and the optical audio cord from the back of the TV for my soundbar became disconnected. Short of completely removing the whole thing again it's about impossible for me to get it plugged back in.

No. Swap it on the device.

Try swapping to a full-motion mount. That will allow you to push it against the wall or pull it out when you need to access the inputs, etc.

If you really wanted to, you could purchase a universal stand for your TV to put it on your entertainment center. I'd just recommend buying a 4 pack of HDMI extension cables and plugging those to the back of your TV to make swapping inputs easier on you.

That was the intent. I had some stupid tenants staying at my house while I was working out of town for over a year and they fricked that up for me

This is what I have and do not regret mounting it at all.

I run everything through my AV system so there's only one cord going into my TV aside from the power cable. If I want to add or remove a device I do it from the AV system.

We stopped using those really cheap mounts and switched to the Sanus mounts that allow you to pull away from the wall.
Worth it

Don’t regret it bc I got a MantelMount and has been amazing for having to put a tv over a fireplace in a slightly undersized living room. Also makes switching inputs around a piece of cake.

Another vote for fully articulated mounting (if you're going to wall mount at all) - Cheetah was good to me.

About 10 years ago I put up a wall mount, hung my TV on it, and made sure I was happy with appearance, position, etc.
Then I realized I had put the mounting bolts through the pocket door in the wall, so the door could no longer be closed. I regretted that.

I see many people mount the tv above the fireplace which is way too high for a normal line of sight from a seated position.

I regret only running 1 PVC through my wall so I can hide my cables. Should have ran at least 2.
Love the wall mount, like others I have the one that allows me to pull the TV from the wall. Unfortunately, because I didn't consider the number of cables and run 2 PVCs I sometimes get the droopy cable behind my TV.
*I use the PVC because the TV is on an external wall with insulation.

Nope. Wall mounted every tv in my house with fully articulating mounts. Love it. Only wish I had power behind every tv on the wall. Have to manage cables.

I added outlets in the wall behind each of my TV's. No cables visible.

Easy obvious tip also OP, is many TVs have hdmi outlets in more then one spot. For example on both the back of the tv and the side. Plug in whatever is optional on the side or whatever side is most accessible. Plug in your cable or whatever is unlikely to be unplugged in the least accessible location.
Movable mounts and extensions also a great idea.

I want to but don't feel like paying an electrician for it

I've looked at about 40 houses over the past 2 years and this is a big pet peeve.
I like the idea of it, but the execution is all wrong.
Same as with built-ins. You freeze yourself in time. My main set up is a couch high 65" on a stand that is the perfect size for it. I see myself scaling up to 75" and ultimately 120" (
