re: Amazon has really stepped in it with me this weekend...

It's not your fault, but it's not Amazon's either. You're obviously emotional over this and not really thinking clearly yet. I've been there. I've had critical shipments disappear in transit for days, and I wanted to blame somebody. The retailer is easiest to blame because they're way more accessible than the couriers, whose customer service reps barely have a pulse. Amazon already takes the brunt of shipping delays caused by the random acts of incompetence of FedEx/UPS/USPS. Very few companies would've overnighted a second item to you just because the first was going to be a few days late.
Short of having someone from Amazon take an immediate impromptu road trip to your house, there's nothing else they can do to get your shite to you faster (and in your current emotional state, I'm betting that this sounds like a reasonable solution to you).

Made a purchase that's really imperative to the success of my business and the margins it makes. It was supposed to be here Friday evening. I should've been working since then.
Why not go to a brick and mortar store to purchase this item if it's so imperative to the success of your business? If that's not possible, why not order it sooner to ensure it arrived before Friday? As other posters have said, it sounds like your issue is with FedEx, not Amazon.
ETA: And you still haven't told us what you would want Amazon to do to remedy your problem.

Because I could not find a comparable model necessary for my needs in a brick and mortar (ETA: at least locally for me). My budget for this purchase was also not double what I chose to pay so paying twice simply isn't in my budget.
Again I get it. It's my fault. I've contacted the SOS asking to dissolve the LLC. I'll print flyers for the going out of business sale. When my package finally arrives.

I had a similar issue yesterday, except I don't blame amazon, I just blame the lazy frick FedEx driver.
Package was returned to the FedEx facility as undeliverable due to the lack of a apartment number in my address. Well, if he would have spent 10 seconds looking at my apartment complex, he would have realized that each unit has an individual address. Ups and usps each delivered packages to that same address the day before...

How did Amazon let you down? They did their part. FedEx didn't do theirs

This reminds me of a rent check I was waiting for earlier this month. My tenant has her rent set up on auto-pay woth her bank. I usually get the check on the first, or second at the latest. With 4th of July I gave it a couple of extra days before I contacted her. I didn't charge her a late payment penalty because, it wasn't her fault the check didn't get here on time. It wasn't her bank's fault that the check didn't get here on time. It either got lost in the mail, or someone took it out of my mailbox.
You need to blame FedEx.
You need to blame FedEx.

This sounds like a fedex problem more than an Amazon problem.

The FedEx driver who sued and won

The FedEx Ground division, created in 2000, delivers small packages to homes and businesses nationwide. But its army of 32,500 uniformed drivers, managers and affiliated workers are classified as contractors, a controversial policy that allows FedEx to save on health benefits, unemployment insurance, retirement accounts and overtime pay, among other things.
"This is an intentional policy on the part of FedEx Ground to deny drivers their rights as employees," said Erin Johansson, research director at Jobs with Justice, a labor rights group.

If someone took it out of your mailbox they know to check back every month.
If you live in a house you may want to try this:
Oasis Jr. Post-Mount or Column-Mount Locking Mailbox in Pearl Gray
$133.67

How is this the fault of Amazon, and what would you like them to do to rectify it?

I liked it better when Amazon had the exclusive deal with ups instead of FedEx

So fed ex screwed up the delivery and gives you a run around every time you call. You then call amazon and they are sending you another order for free to make up for FedEx's error...
Why exactly is this an issue with Amazon again?
This. I think the OP is getting downvotes because:
1. He's complaining about Amazon when the problem is actually with FedEx.
2. He's doubling-down on not admitting what the real problem was and has unrealistic expectations of Amazon who handled an issue that wasn't their fault as best they could.

Because their solution doesn't solve my problem? Is this difficult to understand?
Yes, it is. Fedex screwed up, not Amazon. If this item is that important to you, then you should flown out to the warehouse personally to pick it up.
Good thing you weren't trying to do this ten years ago when you would have been laughed at for expecting two day delivery at all.

Fedex messes up my delivery, I blame the shipper.
You sound like a hellva business man.

So FedEx fricked up and you're angry at Amazon?

I went to Trump University
But like I said, I'm going out of business. Seems the focus groups didn't like the name I chose...

Multiple people have asked this, but the OP won't answer the question. Amazon did all they could to fix the situation, but he's just mad things didn't go his way. Now the OP is being sarcastic and saying he is shutting down his business to save face because he knows he was wrong about Amazon being the problem when it was actually FedEx
