Louisiana heat. How screwed am I? I can’t plug them in until I get back home as I only got the drives. Just brought them with me and some other belongings when I evacuated but forgot to take them out of the car. Are they most definitely fricked? It’s like 14GB worth of backups as well as primary files.

I’m praying they’re going to be ok. They’re fat WD external drives that use old school platters, not SSDs

They'll be fine. Those old WD external drives are tanks. I've been using one for over 10 years, and have took it everywhere, and have dropped it a few times.

Its going just fine.

I'd be shocked if they weren't fine. I abuse equipment frequently behind belief. Electronics are so sturdy these days

Unless you got your drives up to around 200F, you're likely fine.

If you are living in the humid south, I'd be more worried about condensation collecting on them by taking them from inside an air conditioned space to a warm and humid outside.

They'll be fine.

Did they get flooded? If not, they should be fine.
