2018 TCL 6 series officially for sale

Amazon and Best Buy have the sets up.

$649 for 55" and $999 for 65" at Amazon which have the voice remote
$599 for 55" and $949 for 65" at Best Buy which has the "regular" remote
For those that don't know, this the 2018 replacement for the 2017 TCL P series which only came in 55" but was considered the bargain of the century last year because it came with a wide color gamut, and 72-zone full array local dimming for significantly cheaper than competitor sets. The new 6 series sets improve upon that with 96-zones for the 55" and 120-zones for the 65", new wider color gamut for the same price. The 65" is all new.
This is the mid-range killer to Samsung/Song/LG/Vizio sets.

That looks like a LEGIT TV. I just don't like the Roku OS but I guess you don't have to use it.

I have my p series set up to go to input 1 on start up. don't have to ever see the RokuOS if you don't want to

Baby steps for them.
Remember last year they only had a 55" P series, this year the 6 series is 55" and 65".
They did have a 75" C series last year, in fact I think costco always had that tv for a really low $1499, but it had no local dimming like the P/6 series. It was weird how they marketed it as their highest end tv but wasn't as nice as the P series.

Always bigger if you can afford it. $1000 for a what's essentially mid-high end range tv is a steal.
I had a 65" in a couple apartments before moving into my home I have now. Seating distance at those places was only 9-10 feet or so, 65" at that range looks amazing. Now it's more like 15 feet away and seems tiny

Had I not received the deal of the year (LG OLED65B7a for $1197 new) I would be all over this.

Nebraska Furniture, 15 minutes from my house, ran an ad at night. It was in my inbox early the next day. I went and stood outside waiting for the doors to open. I was second in line. They had 15. Limit one per customer. All were gone in less than 10 minutes.
