Have a smaller TCL for a "bedroom" TV...nice except for the remote...I hate the TCL remote. Totally useless when you are watching "regular" cable channels and need to go to a channel. No way to enter the channel number and not scroll.

What do you mean? I mean I have to use a separate remote to watch any cable box.. I never use my tv remote on any type of TV..

I actually do like the Roku Tv remotes, because some allow you to put in headphones to listen.. pretty sweet and also on the roku tv's you can control it via wifi from any where in your house.. which is awesome.. sometimes if my family has their TV on super loud and are asleep.. i can get on the app and actually turn the volume down my room. pretty sweet deal for me.

Yeah, those sound very encouraging. I need to rid myself of a bunch of TV's I have, including my 10 year old Panny plasma, that still looks great but has lost some black level punch. I have nine TV's and a theater with a projector. Four are sitting unused. I could unload five for probably enough to pay for $300-$400 of the cost to purchase a 55" TCL to replace the plasma. I better get on it.

TCL talking about these being introductory prices so I didn’t want to wait around and see a spike.

Will update once it arrives.

Amazon delays are getting ridiculous so a bit worried that my order may end up being cancelled. The 65 inch is currently backordered 2-3 months. This is not a good sign for TCL on a launch this big.

Any reviews yet from you guys who bought one? I’m considering it but apparaently TCL only produced about 100 of them and everyone is on backorder lol

I’m still on backorder and it says it should arrive May 11. I’m about to cancel that order and just go get one locally at Best Buy. I can go to the DC in Dallas and pick up a 65’ without waiting. Unfortunately, I’d be sacrificing the 617 which has the nicer remote.

Amazon customer service seemed to think if it didn't ship by EOD today, then it probably wouldn't arrive on May 11 as planned........

I ordered on April 27 IIRC so I've been pretty patient

Amazon now saying they have no idea when it will ship. Seems like there is a quality issue because Best Buy (which had 65’ in stock last week) now does not have any available in the region.

The 55’ is available for order on both sites so this issue specifically applies to the 65 inch 6 series.

I did a quick search for confirmation. I didn’t find anything, but I think TCL might outsource the manufacturing of the panels for the 65”. They may be at the mercy of their suppliers if they do outsource.

Plus, they might have underestimated the demand of the 65” since it’s a new size and they are heavily guessing.

The buzz about this TV has been building since January. A lot of people preordered or bought one as soon as they were available. Even more pulled the trigger as soon as the first reviews started rolling in. I’m guessing it’s a demand issue. It might take several weeks to clear back orders.

I'm in Dallas and Best Buy won't deliver until June 5th and there is no store pickup available within 250 miles

I think you are on to something about the 65' panels because the 55' is available everywhere today.

I'm moving soon and may just order it after I move. Frustrating but its just a TV at the end of the day.

Glad to hear people are liking them....I've been in the crowd waiting since January.

Best Buy has the 65' back in stock at select stores in the Dallas area. It looks like the supply issues has temporarily been resolved.

Cancelled my Amazon order since they are since out of stock on the 65'.

Finally getting the 65R617...Ended up ordering through PC Richard to get the 65 inch. I also saw that NFM has the 6 series available although they aren’t listed on TCL’s “where to buy” list.

Amazon and Best Buy have been sold out of the 65 inch for awhile and I decided to try out somewhere else.

Fingers crossed for no banding issues...

Final update: TV is awesome. Roku interface is simple and works really well. Picture is fantastic and I have no regrets so far with the purchase.
