Maybe his angle is we had the group locked up and we blew it bad.
Mwg, this is not the best four game offensive stretch is USMNT history. Plus, we are leaking late goals (4 in 4 last games). However, Klinsmann probably should not be fired regardless even though he should move to technical director. I would want the face of the USMNT to be Bradley, not an egotistical coach.

Kinda funny that people on this board right after Lando was left off were saying if we didn't make it out of the group stage, he should be fired.

If we don't make it out, then it would be a massive choke. We were 30 seconds away from advancing on Sunday.
Regardless of the group of death, we had this shite locked up after two games. It would be a massive failure from where we stood after the Ghana game.

That's a revisionist history.
No. It would be a massive failure if you look at it from 93' into the portugal game.
If i remember correctly, this board was freaking out because the loss of Jozy and how we had no one to replace him. And how Jurgy made another huge massive failure not to include another jozy type striker.
No one thought we would be certain to advance after ghana. That was supposedly the easy game, then we would have to buckle down to beat the harder two opponents. Plus, there was the Ghana draw with germany that hurt our chances too.
Then we came out and played outstanding. dominated the midfield, had more opportunities than portugal, etc.
Minus a few mental errors on the field we would be through right now. Minus a missed kick by Cameron, a couple of missed goal scoring chances, or a couple of errors at the end. Its hard to blame Jurgen for these errors unless you have had a reason to hate prior. like for leaving LD off.

Personally, I've never seen the USA look better than how they've looked this World Cup.
There's actually strategy happening instead of just lofting the ball long while running wildly for it. Seems that's all the USA had in the past, but now.... the USA has been doing smart-controlled, precise-passing, while playing opportunistically patient soccer now. We didn't do this in the past and the only thing the USA is missing. Are more finishers that can score goals when it counts. We're doing OK but putting it on net more with true-blue finishers would really increase the USA's World Cup chances. This World Cup, I feel like I'm watching a good Germany team when watching the USA play. That's a darn good thing in my opinion. For the 1st time ever, the USA looks like the other top teams from around the world with their soccer play. I've never really thought the USA had a real shot for a Cup in the past, but I could actually see this USA WC team having success. Hopefully they get the chance and make the elimination stage.
We'll see....

I have a hard time believing anyone with a thorough knowledge of US Soccer would say this. Even in a worst-case scenario tomorrow (4-0 loss to Germany, don't advance), everyone will be happy with our overall WC performance.

Maybe like one or two people said this, but the majority of people who felt Donovan should have been in the squad believed that he had to have a good showing.
I'm insanely happy right now with the way we preformed, and that's taking into account that I still feel that Donovan would have contributed a lot more to this team.

I said one of the best and arguably.
Considering the opponents and main striker out for two games, 8 goals in four games is pretty fricking good.

Sounds like the guy (Wynalda) just wants to get a little publicity.
Klinsman has really done a great job with this team. Or at least has gotten a lot of results.
Although I do seem to remember that Klinsman was bashed, even on this board, prior to the team going on a bit of a run.

Klinsmann is a mediocre tactical manager, but a great man manager.
That being said, Wynalda is an attention seeking douche. Always has been, always will be. He has this victim complex about him, because no club wants to hire him as a manager.

Agreed. I think he's done great so far. Not his fault that Bradley turned the ball over, Cameron had a mental lapse or two, and Howard slipped on the first goal.
