It’s a pretty good draw considering we couldn’t draw another concacaf team and those were some of the weakest teams out there.
Getting Australia as pot 2 was lucky in a sense, but it also meant we couldn’t draw the really shitty Asian countries later on. Similarly if we had drawn like a Croatia from pot 2 it would’ve been tough, but it would’ve opened up some real cupcakes as teams 3 and 4.
Getting Australia from Pot 2 pretty much guaranteed a group with no heavyweights and no cupcakes.
Also a lot depends on who the euro team is. If Turkey chokes then this group looks a lot easier

The only time we got skipped was Pot 4, correct? If we got Croatia in Pot 2, we still get Paraguay in Pot 3 and I believe we would have gotten Curacao in 4?

Good draw but for American but I'm still iffy if we can get to the second round. I'm not impressed in our team so far. Will hope for the best but I fear the worst.

Of course Scotland gets Brazil.
Scotland got their same group as last WC 1998 except trade Norway for Haiti.

Exactly the African vs nobody Houston cheap ticket I was talking about when people were worried about prices in the lottery thread.

Inglewood, California gets two USMNT games, what a massive middle finger to the rest of the country that follows the team.

If we go to a game it will be in Atlanta. Colombia/Portugal or Scotland/Brazil would be my choice but I’ll be at the mercy of what tickets are leftover. I’m sure it’s been posted but when will all the FIFA playoffs be completed and full match schedule set ? TIA

Looks like the locations get set at 11 am today

Does anyone know the best way to find out the locations that are apparently being picked right now?
FIFA’s website didn’t show it
“Whoops! Something went wrong. Try again later!”
I guess FIFA doesn’t have enough money for their servers

Houston gets
Germany/Curacao June 14
Portugal/Path 1 June 17
Netherlands/Path B June 20
Portugal/Uzbekistan June 23
Cape Verde/Saudi Arabia June 26 <----- Looks like that's the discount match

I am stunned that they picked Portugal for two games and skipped Colombia for both.
I figured they’d split them.
Also disappointed for my Ecuadorian friend that they picked Germany vs Curaçao over Ivory Coast vs Ecuador.

Am I understanding correctly that some of the less appealing games on the West Coast kick off at 9 pm their time?
When I saw midnight eastern for some games, I figured that had to be a typo.

What frickery is this?
That's 10pm, 11am, 11pm local time, which means you essentially get one less day of rest between match 1 and match 2.

US plays at 8 pm on June 12, Australia vs Turkey is Saturday, June 13 at 11 pm
Then we play on Friday June 19, so the Aussies get one less day of rest.
Then we play in Thursday night, June 25. Everyone gets five full days rest.
Spacing of games is certainly not an issue for us. And the world’s smallest violin plays for a team that only gets five days of rest instead of six (the dirty Aussies).

I forgot that there are more games now so it makes sense that the group stage games are spread ot more.
Gone are the days of playing 2 matches in 4 days.

It’s still an issue in the elimination rounds though, especially in the last week.

Looks like Atlanta got shite matches, so we all may be able to go after all. My friends and I have all failed to get tickets through FIFA so far.
Group match and stay in Atlanta for the night or knockout match and try to come back.
