I mean, anything can happen of course. I just was trying to talk myself out of betting because Algeria might be better than I think. They are not. Watch them score 2 and send this to extras and win on pens to make me eat my words

Is this 50 year old baby-looking human Infantino at every fricking match? I don't wanna see him EVER.

Belgium came back from down 2 goals to win 3-2.

My advice: don't gamble on sports.

One thing this World Cup has proven to me.. 24 or maybe 32 teams was the right number for the knockout round as every game has been pretty damn good.

Definitely more than 16.

I made good money on the 1st and 2nd games of the group stage: I lost all my profits on the 3rd game and this round.

I need to update my shite. I lived in SB for 6 years, and now live in San Luis Obispo. Where'd you grow up? I'm gonna guess....Lompoc?

Dad grew up Lompoc. I was in Los Osos. So a couple hours north.

Love SLO, spent much of my childhood going to Cal Poly soccer games, hanging out at Farmers Market, Boo Boo Records, A Beach…general mischief around the central coast.

ETA…Kona’s FTW

Calling it now: if Algeria scores a goal, they will find a way to get a second to equalize because the swiss will go into prevent mode, and abandon the game they've played that has controlled the match so far.

Algeria is already getting better pushes because of the Swiss seeming like they are relaxing, comfortable with the lead they have.

Belgium showed why that can be dangerous. first goal in the 86'. Equalizer in the 89'. Winnng goal in stoppage of extra time.

I used to live in Osos. It was nice being that close to Montana De Oro. Yeah you know your central coast places. Farmer's is still going on. Just happened tonight. Boo Boo's is still here. I haven't gone to a Poly soccer game yet. Maybe next season when they play UCSB. That seems to be a spicy little rivalry.

When I moved here I thought I would be bored, because I'm from the bay area originally. Moved here right before COVID, so everything was shut down for 2 years. The food options are not as plentiful as the bay, or even SB. But I guess it forced me to cook more

That's cool, man. Don't see a lot of people on here that know the central coast.

Forgot, Thursday night so of course farmer market.

Where in Los Osos? I was on Santa Ysabel and 7th. Played AYSO at the JH. Little league at Monarch Elementary. Hung out in Baywood Park almost everyday with my kid biker friends. Ate a lot of Sylvester’s Burgers.

Also moved to the Bay Area and graduated HS in Walnut Creek.

They're playing close to their potential here, definitely underperformed against Qatar

...and as I say this they blow a goal
