Did he have to fall over from physical force? No. Could he have just stopped and gotten the same result (foul and red card)? Possibly. It’s why people fall over. You tug on someone’s shirt at midfield and it’s a foul plain and simple. You do it after making a mistake and pulling back the player on a breakaway, it’s a red, regardless of how gay the person flopped afterwards. Like I said, it’s unfortunate, but the correct call. And I have every bit of evidence that a USA forward would have stayed up for a 1v1 with the keeper

Extremely soft tactical foul, but did deny obvious goal scoring opportunity. He also flopped.
Considering how physical they let them play now in the name of advantage, and them relying on VAR the only way you get a call is to go down. So they've made flopping more valuable, it's dumb.

Correct. Two things can be true at the same time. Did he flop like he got shot and looks like a huge pussy? Yes. Was it a tactical pull back as the last defender on a breakaway after you made a mistake? Yes, and that’s a red.
