I guess that’s a fair point. And there probably would have been people in the media who would have criticized the coach for not playing him, but even the most adamant Rapinoe supporters were perplexed as to why she was seeing the field.
But I guess that’s the hard thing right now about having the US job, as Carli Lloyd pointed out.

I don’t see how that shot that bounced off the top and side bar wasn’t a goal. Japan finally scores. Sweden is lucky to be ahead in this match.

Australia wins! What a fantastic match. The Matildas were holding on for dear life in extra time and pulled it out 7-6 on penalty kicks.
