What is this nonsense?

Yes, they are going to ban a three time world champion, one of the greatest futbol nations on the globe, and home to two of the most sublime players of all time from international competitions because of some scrapping and fights.

Excellent idea.

While the thought in the OP is idiotic, this is simply not true. Minimizing the BS the team did on its own, not to mention the shady decisions they benefitted from throughout the tournament is not just some scrapping and fighting.

But it is stupid to think an entire team is banned for this nonsense.

I find the uproar about this to be amusing.

This type of play has been going on for decades in central and south America.

The media was gushing over Mexico when they do the exact same tactics as Argentina.

Only difference this time is that Argentina finally did it to a European power.

What Argentina did yesterday was disgraceful. However, that wasn't nearly as bad as things teams have to deal with quite often in concacaf and comnebol qualifications. But they ignore it because who cares if they are being dirty towards USA, Jamaica or Canada.

VAR is frequently conveniently compromised. Try again.

Anyone notice they were the only fan base to get into and large scale trouble with the cops.

Miss me with this bullshite. It needs to be tweaked, but it’s not some big conspiracy. Big players and teams get special treatment and the benefit of the doubt in every major sport of every country in the world.

There is logic behind the way it is being done, but it is flawed, just as it was before VAR. They are letting the play develop and playing advantage a lot (too much if you ask me) for the flow of the game. The VAR crew is not interjecting enough when they should be, and doing too much when they shouldn’t, but it’s more about the type of fouls they’re calling, and the off ball fouls they’re not calling. When offsides went to the armpit over being able to see the jersey color past the last defender it got way too complicated.

Bitching about refs from people who have never played or reffed a competitive game and don’t even know the laws is one of my pet peeves.

Bottom line, the 3 on the field should be doing a better job to maintain control of the match without the GoPro and headset, and with more yellow and reds. Communication from the VAR should come to the 4th Official, when it is clear and obvious, or egregious and he should interrupt play only when that occurs. He shouldn’t have 3 CIA agents speaking into his ear during the game.
