Anyone know when this board was founded?
2010 I think. Just before the WC.

World Cup summer 2010, then transitioned to the soccer board after that. It was preceded by a long argument on the MSB and the Help board where people complained that we littered the MSB with soccer threads, when it was in fact limited to one thread for the most part.

but there is a more palpable anger here than there use to be.

Anger or passion, or pride?

Every year more people become fans of this sport, meaning more people become fans of a club from any league. In The US it is going to be the BPL because of English broadcasting. The Bundesliga is playing some incredible soccer right now and so is La Liga. A joy to watch all of them.

It is amazing that Americans have the best TV viewing options for soccer in the world. We get it all. Maybe Canadians have the same?

Maybe. It just seems less fun.

On this board, it's a lot of anger. It's hard to just have a civil discussion with differing opinions with some people.

I feel like it was different a couple of years ago, but I might be letting nostalgia sway my memory.

There were some match threads which were utterly hilarious. And for a while I'd argue that this board had the highest collective IQ on the site. Now it feels like silly trolling for the most part.

Let's just win the fricking league and then you can go off.. This really is our best chance in a very long time. Just relish every flitter of the heart, every flick of the ball and everyone of Petr's freaking hands.

That may also be a part of aging.

This board gets a lot more traffic than people realize.

I don't post on it much but I read it almost daily. Thanks to y'all I don't have to go to 400 different websites for soccer news.

Guys like Leauxgs and foodbud going incognito hasn't helped

There WAS, however, an LSUSOBEAST sighting earlier today

My wild and completely uneducated guess would be the Arab League since beIN was able to buy up rights for practically everything in those countries

Yeah, it doesn't help when a few of the best posters just stop posting.
