I agree with this part, but clint looks like his old self so far this world cup.
I agree and Clint is, by far, our best attacker IMO. Even with Jozy in the lineup I think Clint is better. I just think Bradley is essential to the US and without him this team would be lucky to even be in the WC IMO. A couple of bad games doesn't make him a bad player. That being said Jermaine Jones is ballin out in this tourney and showing that Bradley isn't the only good CM the US has on the roster.

They don't and it's understandable. It's a tough concept to grasp for people who don't understand the game.
Apparently "watching two games and realizing you're not an expert" is a tough concept to grasp for them as well

Still one of our best players. Has a lower ceiling than most thought not that long ago.
Doesn't deserve "il generale" nickname based on him playing below his ability on the biggest stage.

I feel like Bradley has a lot of talent but never seems to live up to it. He makes a lot of unforced errors and bad decisions, and doesn't have great vision on the field.

That's fair, but I think even if he has another howler against Germany he is still the main part of our midfield until Russia 2018. He deserves (and will be) the next Captain America, and I feel will do better than Claudio Reyna.

I guess different people view things differently, this seems like one of his best attributes to me.

OK you can stop now.

This is probably what frustrates me most about him. At times his vision seems top notch and he will pick out some truly brilliant passes. At others he seems unable to recognize anything and winds up holding onto the ball too long and then giving it away on a poor decision. He did this on a counter in the 2nd half tonight and it drove me fricking nuts.
ETA: Vision isn't something that comes and goes for players, it's always there. It's like he has times that he just doesn't want to play the obvious pass and would rather try to pick out one that would make people say "wow'.

Serious question. How much soccer do you watch?
Probably as much as many of the die hards here. Also played all of my life. Really watch his play. He was better this game, but he constantly will ruin a counter with a ball behind where it should be played, or will lose possession in the midfield.
Eta: he generally knows the ball that should be played, he just regularly doesn't play it correctly. Doesn't mean he is a bad player, and probably the best we have at the position (unfortunately). As I said, he is continuously 2 yards from being truly great.

Exactly. I don't see how some of you don't see this. We'll have a guy wide open making a run and he opts to pass it to Dempsey on the opposite side with 2 men on him. And that's after he holds the ball for an extra 5 seconds.

Howard actually made a number of mistakes today.
This. There were mistakes made by many players. The first goal we gave up was terrible, absolutely god awful. The second goal was just the best player in the world making something happen, they do that sometimes. I'm more upset by the 5 minutes added for god knows why.

This^
That was an incredible ball played into the box by Ronaldo. Perfect.

I still can't get over it...I just really don't understand how that ref came to the conclusion of 5 minutes needed to be added. It wasn't like there were any long injuries or 2nd half water breaks...it was a couple of goals and a couple of subs which is nothing out of the ordinary.

Same as it was before the tournament. He's a very good player, one of our best in the outfield.
Give me a break with the give away at midfield. If Geoff Cameron doesn't botch a clearance and fall asleep at the back post, we're through.
Bradley was good yesterday. He'll be ready Thursday.
Haters can sit on a long pipe.
