Yeah... and?

I at least backed up my reasoning, meanwhile, you torpedoed yours.

Ok, maybe I didn't... will do it now.

Balogun has commented on pretty much all of Musah's USMNT posts. Balogun is one of like 20 guys Musah follows on social media. The two have known each other for a long arse time.

Yes... those two basically being best friends helps.

Now please try and articulate again how youth camps are more important.

I think we have a decent chance. I know he is still young but England is fricking stacked with young attackers. He would have a much better chance of playing with the US

Which is exactly why Musah is here and probably what he is telling Balogun.

They aren't everything, but it is definitely a data point that has to be considered. Get's you familiar with the program, fellow players, coaches, staff. Can leave a very positive impression or a very negative one (as we've seen with Jonathan Gonzalez and Neven Subotic).

What about the dual nationals we've landed that weren't apart of the youth systems?

Musah, Jermaine Jones, Johannsson, Green (made 1 USYNT appearance sandwiched between a handful of German youth appearances)... the list goes on.

I never said that we're a slam dunk to land Balogun because of his friendship with Musah. Just said that it may help more than you think. I got in this thread because of your asinine view that there is a "small" chance we get him because of his England youth caps.

It's just a heavy-handed take.

I think that because of youth involvement (don't think I specifically mentioned caps, that's just a small part of each camp), he's lived in England since he was 2, and he just signed a new contract with Arsenal which will keep him in London around his English peers, coaches, Wembley, etc.

You say this like that's not the case for the majority of our Dual nationals.

Julian Green, Fabian Johnson and John Brooks say hello.

You seem to be confusing a "small" chance with "no" chance.

I’m not holding my breath with Balogun, but I thought we had small chance of landing Dest and Musah too. Hopefully this turns out the same way.

Julian Green

Was likely promised a spot on the WC roster, and we had a legendary German striker as our coach.

Fabian Johnson

Was almost 24 and wasn't really going to get many chances with Germany.

John Brooks

His dad was in the US military and he was pretty proud of his heritage as he has tattoos of both Berlin and Illinois.
